F60 Runflat tire noise?
Runflat tire noise?
Have a 2017 Countryman S w/ 100K mi. Runflat tires seem a lot noisier lately at moderate speeds. They still have good tread depth. When I coast slowly down an incline in N with the engine off I can hear this rubbing/creaking noise from the front. Thought it might be the wheel bearings, but I’m wondering if the fun flats make this type of noise but we normally don’t hear it because the engine is so noisy. Anyone else have experience with this?
My co-pilot's '15 R60 has RF tires 'cause she was on the road a lot but now those days are over. They are so damned noisy, when I ride with her I can't hear myself think and we can't carry on a normal conversation. Soon as they are worn down a bit more, they are gone never to return. They do serve a purpose but destroy the joy of motoring.
Yes my experience on 4 Mini’s is you hit a point in wear (even with good rotation) where they just get noisy. I have never had the first set of OEM tires last to or much past 20K. I then put on Falken non-run flats. I have had outstanding wear and performance on the Falken all weather tires. And they have been quieter.
Same here the more the tires wear the louder they got. My wife recently got new tires and it was like getting a new car. Unfortunately she bought RFT again. I'll be getting new tires for my BMW X5 soon and they will be NRFT.
