'20 jcw problem already

So I have 13k on my '20 f60jcw and the other day a freaking check engine light came on!!! WTF. It was a p120d. I cleared to see if it was a fluke since it was 20degrees that night. Today 60 miles later damn light is back on. I'm pissed so now the 40 minute ride one way to the dealer.

I seriously hope this isn't a sign of things to come.

I hope not, too. However, it's a machine with thousands of parts. Things malfunction, it's a fact of mechanical/electronic life. Surely the warranty will cover it, and you'll have a "loaner" to drive if it takes long to fix.

Well - it's not all doom and gloom. Check engine lights simply are letting you know there's an issue. Better than not knowing.
We had a check engine light this year... at under 20k miles on ours... ended up being an O2 sensor... which is common to go out on just about all makes and models of cars.
Take it in and let them sort it out for you. That's what the warranty is for...

It's just a sensor of some sort. Not a big deal. That's my bet anyway.

I understand I'm a 20year ase master tech... my point being I paid 48k for a top of the line mini. Not even 14k on the clock... and a problem. I put 150k on my last toyota without a single issue. Just frustrated that's all.

One thing for sure, the 2020 JCW 300+ HP engine is not a Toyota. I hope it gets fixed with no drama, and is rock-solid for the next 120K miles for you!
