Always hated the silver muffler hanging below the rear valance. I finally just painted it matte black with radiator paint which is good for 300 degrees F.
I've been thinking about painting or replacing the JCW exhaust on my R53 because of the low hanging polished mufflers.
Aftermarket polished mufflers (especially if 2 of them) are ok... the OEM center single muffler just looks terrible.
The M2 also has this and I know most of those fellows are painting it. Just looks unfinished.
