I have always been a big car person. I am now 7 months away from my BMW X5 lease ending. I dont want another BMW. I test drove a 2019 countryman saturday and think I am in love. I have some time to decide so I get to wait for the 2020 with that new engine to come out and will test drive one as soon as I can. My question to anyone who reads this is, if I decide to do a build, can I get it without a sunroof? Everything has sunroofs these days. I have never even opened mine on my X5. I would rather put the money into something else but when I do builds online there is no option to NOT have a sunroof.

 

Currenty Countryman owner - turned in my X3 to get it. Yes you can order a Countryman without a sunroof, but it's same price as one with a sunroof.

 

well that stinks. I cant believe they charge the same price. Oh well. I will probably still get a mini.

 

If you do want to test drive the new B48 before the 2020 JCWs are available, find an X2 M35i to do so.

 

You can also look at the Golf R. No sunroof. I was going back and forth between the two but the styling of the MINI (and included sunroof) won out over the power of the R.
But now the power will be equal. Well... until the 2020 R is announced.

 

You can't go wrong with the Mini or Golf R. What sold me on the Mini was the interior and the OEM parts catalog for it. Wait for the 2020 JCW, it will be worth every penny.
