Rear Centre Armrest missing even though listed in features

Just got our new F60 2019 Countryman and the rear centre armrest is missing, even though it is listed as a feature for all levels (we got the Premium Plus edition here in Canada). Has this ever happened to anyone else? Sent a note to the dealer, waiting on them to get back to us.

We just bought a 2019 Cooper S Countryman Premier (not Premier+) on May 31 and it has a rear centre armrest with the flip open cup holders. Canada too. What is there instead of the armrest?

Hi, nothing is there just the foldable seat that goes down with no cupholder on it :( The mini.ca web site even states that all editions have it... Waiting for the dealer to get back to me...

Well dealer got back to me seems that a production issue with the Netherlands plant happened when they built a couple of these. However they tell me that my serial number is not in the affected list, so I suspect the back seat was already swapped with another.. I am still waiting on them to tell me what they are going to do to fix this so I want that rear centre armrest...

If it was listed as an option when you bought it, you paid for it and MINI will have to make it right.
Seems like the simple solution is for MINI to send a new seat. Your dealer *could* offer to swap one out with one from a car on the lot if the same trim is in stock, while they wait for the new one to arrive.
If you don't have a solution in a couple days I'd be calling mini customer service.

Did you get a resolution from the dealer? We're in a similar situation, and what the dealer is claiming is listed in the TSB for mis-assembled units is far from satisfactory.

hi,

at first they said it is part of a couple missambled cars from the Netherlands and were willing to offer a credit, it since this was a selling feature for us for when I drive my mom and mother in law on car rides with their coffees I told them they had to fix it and they eventually switched out the seat with another countryman that they had as a loaner car, which was fine by me. I just wanted that centre armrest for my moms when they’re in back.

Alright, and sounds like you were successful with that. That is our feeling too - we're not interested in the credit, the arm rest and cup holders were a big selling feature. We'll keep pushing them to make it right - thanks for the quick response!

Can some please post a picture of what the armrest is suppose to look like with the cup holders. I can't find it in the features.

See the pull tab for the arm rest in the centre.

Arm rest deployed.

It took a little push back, but our dealer is going to swap the seats for us. Our car was listed in an early build error and missing the feature, which is listed as standard on all trim levels for the S in 2019 (not sure on the non-S).

Hmmm...I thought that the cup holder version of the rear armrest was not standard in the S but part of the Convenience Package. But then I only looked at the build for the ALL4 S and not the FWD S.

Maybe it's a Canadian thing? We only get the ALL4 afaik, and it's listed at the classic level.

Yep, might be a CA thing as they like to do that.

This thread is really interesting to me. I bought a S-All4 2019 Iconic Here in FL in May. I have the British Oak interior. This thread prompted me to go look to see if I had the armrest/cupholder option and nada. Nothing. Is this a mistake in the build or was it a feature that I had to option and pay for? Thx...

In Canada, the rear centre armrest is part of the base model (Classic) all the way up to the Premier+ version. I was just unlucky to get a ALL4 S Premier+ that had the wrong rear seat in it.

For 2019 in the US you had to order the storage package to get the armrest.

Missing rear cup holders in my iconic Countryman

I also am missing my rear cup holders in the armrest of my 2019 iconic Countryman—- thought it was just me till I started looking for some kind of replacement . Know this thread is old but wondering who had success getting it replaced by mini and where I should start— bought the car from the dealer online in another state and had it shipped to me.

The dealer changed out the back seat for us. It took a little while and some back and forth calls but they finally did it. They acknowledged that about 300 had been miss assembled in the Netherlands plant and they knew about it. They just wanted to give us a $300 rebate if I recall but for me that was a no go or they take the car back and they fixed it.
