Sirius/XM and CarPlay in CM without native Sirius/XM

I just purchased a 2019 Countryman (to replace my 2014 Countryman) and noticed that it doesn't come equipped with Sirius/XM. I guess I just assumed it did since the car comes with the Touchscreen NAV system, MINI connected, and Harmon/Kardon speakers. But, alas, it's not listed in the build sheet.

My question is...since I have CarPlay, can I just stream Sirius through this option? Obviously I would purchase a streaming subscription, but, I'm just wondering if Sirius even lets you do this? Do you need a subscription tied to a car or can you have a standalone subscription?

You can purchase just streaming Sirius and use carplay. We prefer Sirius over the satellite instead of using our data. With a free year it was worth the 299. In our case Bimmer Tech was able to send us a link via email to download on a flash drive. Installed as directed and bada bing bada boom we now have Sirius XM. Free trial for one year and also free streaming to the phone for a year. The wife loves it and we highly recommend it if you like Sirius and your car didn’t come with it. https://www.bimmer-tech.net/shop/mini

If Satellite radio is listed as source in the source list then the car is equipped w/ the Sirius tuner if not then it can be added to it.
