Wheel stud conversion?

As I plan for aftermarket wheels, the wheels I want will require a 5mm hub centric spacer to clear the JCW calipers. Rather than try to figure out the exact longer lug bolt size to accommodate the new wheels and the additional 5mm, I am considering converting to wheel studs:

Has anyone here converted to studs on a Mini or other car? What was your experience?

Easy peasy. I just replaced an older set with a brand new set

Here are a couple of videos that might be useful

Definitely will be straight-forward. What do you think of the extended studs poking out? What did you use for lug nuts?

I have absolutely no issue with the studs poking out. I like the look: I actually prefer it over the the look of lug bolts. And the wheel studs make my wheel changes (from dailies to autocross setup) so much easier.

I bought my latest kit from Motorsport Hardware. I bought the 14×1.25 to 12×1.5 kit with black conical seat nuts. I needed the 14mm to 12mm kit because I have wheels that can't accommodate 14mm studs / bolts: ADAPTER / CONVERSION STUD 14×1.25-12×1.5* 78mm Black Bullet Nose Stud Kit

The F60 uses 14×1.25 bolts / studs, so one of these sets would work for you: MINI 14X1.25 WHEEL STUD KITS

The transaction with Motorsport Hardware was great and the package was shipped quickly and profesionally. Product also appears to be top notch.
