Wrong Tires!

Just noticed today, my tires are not what I ordered!

I specifically ordered non-Runflat All-Seasons, but what should I find, but Bridgestone Turanza EL450 RFT tires! RFT, as in Run-flats!

They drive nice, sure, but this pisses me off!

Something even worse happened at delivery:
The 1.90% they awarded me back in August, suddenly became 3.90%! "Oh, we couldn't lock that rate in." Why the hell did we discuss financing terms AT LENGTH, based on a phoney rate? Oodles of opportunities THEN to inform me that that rate, which they'd pre-qualified me for, was SUBJECT TO CHANGE!

WHAT!!?? Bait-and-Switch much? I nearly walked!! Miraculously, at my behest, they checked out banks (i.e. not MINIUSA) and got me 2.87%, which still isn't that great. My credit is as good as possible. I could have spent those two months waiting in finding my own awesome financing! Such utter [illegal?] ********!!!

I'm having a very hard time being willing to give them their 5-stars. I won't fill out the survey until my anger subsides, but they've ruined an otherwise excellent dealership experience!

That blows. Sorry dude. I think I read somewhere when you select the "All-Seasons" they're just Run flat All seasons?

on a side note. My dealer said that they are going to give me the incentives that were offered during the months I placed my order, but if they are better when the car arrives, they'll go with the new ones. We didn't talk interest rates yet because they didn't want to "ping" my credit report twice. They are waiting till I sign everything.

Well, if that's true, then why is the option tied into "without the Picnic Bench"/spare tire?

OTOH, such a move by BMW would be consistent: any tire, so long as it's a Run-flat.

Mine had no qualms pinging mine before and after. I was under the impression I'd receive August incentives, too. Ha!

Why didn't you shop for a rate?? BoA direct is much lower than MINI. Every time a dealer get's you financing, it is at a higher rate.

Because they had me believing that I already had 1.9% until the moment of delivery. That's my point! They misled me. Why they would do so, I'm not sure.

That stinks about the finance rate! Would have been nice of them to tell you up front that was subject to change so you could have shopped around.

I was surprised when you said you were able to order non-run flats because I had asked that as well when I placed my order. They told me all MINI's come with run flats regardless of model. So far I do like the Pirelli's on mine but I will definitely change to non-run flats. I happen to really prefer the Pirelli's by past experience.

Wow, that sucks. Any rate changes would be in writing - unless none of it is in writing. I am amazed they quoted you that low of a rate. While my credit is north of 800, I have not found a rate that low - even direct! 2.87% is actually a very good rate.

Oddly when I asked about a spare, I was given a blank stare. I got the picnic whatever it is, but absolutely would have opted for a spare. I checked the build website and don't see where a spare is an option!

I will get continentals when mine arrives.

You have an SE, or non-hybrid? On non-hybrids, you can nix the Picnic Bench and have a spare. I have a spare tire, despite apparently fact that I have run flats.

LOL yeah I got the blank stare also, when I asked about a spare tire, jack and wrench. 'The picnic cushion'
I have a ratchet and socket now.
I have found 17"inch Mini wheels locally , but I don't think they will fit.
Need to find a jack and the jack points, have to be careful with a unibody.
Had to reply when I saw your blank stare comment cause that was exactly what I got
Have a good one!

"I specifically ordered non-Runflat All-Seasons" Where is that option available? Couldn't find it on the USA build site. Didn't think you can order cars like that anymore.

As for rate locks, MA should have told you what can and can't happen with rates. Bad sales people are the norm. My MA who wasn't perfect and moved on certainly explained the MINI policy on rates upfront. I'd complain to dealership management if you are still unhappy, but they will probably point to some fine print stating this.
