Thanks in advance.
I have the sample set from Cocomats. I was hoping the gold dot pattern one would be a close yellow match but it isn't. I can snap a shot of the sample in my car next to the yellow color line if you like. The Cocomat is definitely gold.

Ahh - thanks a ton for this post. I've been going back and forth on whether to try the Cocomat. But I am pretty picky about matching colors and based on your post, I can confirm I wouldn't be happy with the gold.

Thanks for the feedback.

This looks awesome!

Did it change the spread or anything of the light?? Considering the original finish was reflective.

Yepper, we need to keep this up front.

There has been talk about the wood dask kits and what they look like. I went for it as I wanted it for my door rings. Mini said they offered it at one time, but not now. The in car pictures on the site look questionable, but I gave it a shot any way. The kits are very nice, well made and look really nice. I have attached a picture, but no matter what I did the picture does NOT truly show how nice thy look in real life. I have now ordered the additional kit.

No, we haven't gone away, but we're a rare breed, rare enough MINI has discontinued our color.

Looking the MINIUSA "build a car" website, the only yellow that's left is the Interchange Yellow used on the convertible. There are no less than 4 different shades of silver and 2 shades of blue, however.

I've noticed over the year and 3/4 that I've owned Luigi, yellow is simply a rare color. I usually only see it on Corvettes and that funny-looking Chevy sport-truck collector's car. Even then, those are usually closer to the chrome yellow, than our MY.

I guess this means our cars are gonna be worth even more in a few years, eh?

I was thinking about a 2010 but the color choices are a little too drab for my tastes. Here's hoping 2011 comes in a bit more cheery.

-- The drab choices are probably a reflection of the economic climate we're in. Even MINI has to go a little conservative to attract a wider audience and make up for the declining sales. As a MY owner I do agree that the current choices are a little bit too safe.

If I tried to have my wife park her Mini to keep the milage down as it might be worth more money in a few years I would quickly regret my request Here is a picture of a trip to my work with MidCal Mini's stopping by for a photo shoot, more in my gallery.

Yup still here...

i have actually been taking quite a bit of pics here and there that ive been meaning to post. the MY is very different in all sorts of different lighting conditions it makes it a very versatile subject to shoot.

as for the color being discontinued, im fine with that. makes us that much more rare!

here's a pic in the meantime from yesterday morning...

Sad news is that Minspeed is closing its doors.

This Mellow Yellow Front Bumper/Grille is on the clearance site.

I ordered the clear door handle depression protectors, leather door pull covers
and a 14 oz 'Rattle-Can' of Mellow Yellow in case I want to add some 'color-line'.

Your pictures always look great, but even better in the Owners Club thread.

Great looking JCW, Mark.

You added a super spoiler, Did you paint the headlight rings?

Do they come with the Aero Body and the chrome side markers?

Your seats look very inviting.

My Wet Okole (click here for larger photo):

(Just Front seats and armrests only)
What Brand did you use?

Thanks, much appreciated.

Spoiler, I made.

Headlight and taillight rings I painted.

JCW aero kit came off my '08 MCS, I just repainted them for this one.

The seat covers are from Coverking. I needed a set so I became a dealer and got a huge discount. I really wanted just black seat covers with yellow beading but Coverking doesn't go that fancy. They were about half the price of Wet Okoles so I guess I'll have to live without the beading.

Your seatcovers were my inspiration, yours look great. I didn't do the console but did do the backseat.

Sorry, missed the question. YES, the RMW makes a HUGE difference. I wouldn't hesitate to do it again.

If you're interested, find someone doing a group tune in your area and get it done, you won't regret it.

You are posting on the 1st Gen Board, no 1st Gen were Mellow Yellow, all Yellow 1st Gen's were Liquid Yellow.

Here would be a Thread to start with:

coupe-talk-2007/105213-is-there-a-mellow-yellow-owners-club

Not a whole lot, compared with any other color, but as soon as I saw it (in person), I had to have it!
