How many Melllow Yellow MINI owners?

How many Melllow Yellow MINI owners? This year is the last of the Mellow Yellows and I got mine 1 month ago (my 2nd min). I wonder how many more are out there...I do not see many on the road and as time past I am sure I will see even......none .....Yes the MINI...no two are the same...mine has black rims.....very cool!

Not to mention they were pretty rare to begin with. I bought my MY MCS a year and a half ago and I just was talking to my original SA at this year's Brecht rally. He says my MY with the Tuscan Beige interior is the only one he's ever seen in 18 months of selling MINIs. I know of two other MY cars here in San Diego county; one has a black roof and the other is white.

The popular colors here seem to be red, white and silver.

Flashy!

I think the Liquid Yellow color was horrid but the Mellow Yellow was flashy and bright so it caught my eye when I was ordering my MINI. I absolutely love the color and since my dealer is in Baton Rouge, LA I have made that 2 hour drive to and from a few times and while I have seen many MINI's doing what I am doing no doubt, I have never seen another MY MINI. Not to knock any of the other colors, but my dealer told me the same thing...he had not sold another MY MINI ever.

I absolutely love the mellow yellow, can't believe they discontinued it.

I like the bumble bee look with the black top, reminds me of Mr. Bean's Mini (even though I guess that was lime green).

I've got a pic on the other Mellow Yellow thread, but since you asked, here's me and Luigi on vacation along the Oregon coast.

I am a proud owner of a Mellow Yellow Cooper myself. I too love the color. I was sold on a Chili Red until I went on the lot and saw mine sitting there with it's black roof and black racing stripes. I can't wait to get some black rims to match the roof and stripes.

It actually makes me very happy that it will be discontinued as I am a little greedy and I like that there was a somewhat limited run. I think the color looks great in all light and just has a classy look to it(if that is possible with yellow haha).

MY here since December 2007 (one of the lucky ones to get the MY interior color line before it was discontinued). Though obviously not common, I do see other MY's from time to time in the Philly area - I think they're probably more common than black ones.

Not at all. And I don't have much of the cracking or peeling of the black paint as others have had. It is barely noticable and def not even close to enough for me to redo.

Transformation from white to black?

Ok, I need your guys opinion on what to do. I was looking at my car the other day and was thinking that peraps I should get rid of the white and change it to black. Strips are easy, mirrors are easy but roof and wing that would need painting. Oh and am planning to get the m7 large scoop and leave it black. The Official Mellow Yellow Owners Club-13338_1270181079688_1384690112_770495_4685309_n.jpg

I've seen people on here use vinyl to change the color of their car. One guy did the whole thing stark white (from chili red) and it looks AWESOME. Maybe there's a glossy black vinyl you could use? I think its a really good alternative to paint... cheaper & non-destructive. Plus, you can always change your mind and go back to the white rather easily.

Food for thought...

But do you think the white has to go?

I was thinking vinyl as well as an alternative but I may be able to get the painting cheaper. I'll check it out. But main question is do you think the black would be better than the white?

I have the black roof & mirrors & love it. The white is not really something I would ever consider, too bright for my taste. But that's just me, i've always had darker cars...

Hi all! I picked up my new Mellow Yellow '09 MCS on Friday afternoon and been looking for reasons to drive places ever since! My wife is loving my new-found eagerness to go to the store for her. I saw that they had discontinued my favorite color for 2010, so I was lucky enough to grab the last new '09 Mellow Yellow the dealer had. How do I snag one of the cool little Mellow Yellow medals?
