Is Mellow Yellow going the way of the DoDo?

Poking around MINIUSA's website I stumbled upon a new yellow: Interchange Yellow. For now it's only an option on their convertibles but the fact that there's an Interchange Yellow interior color line and none for Mellow Yellow makes me think that Interchange will be replacing our favorite yellow for good.

I don't think anyone knows for sure yet, but it seems like the colors (unless it's Chili Red) only have a life expectancy of 3 or 4 years, so MY is about due for a change.

The mellow yellow color line is odd. It was available in in 2007, but not in 2008. Even though the 2008 yellow is mellow yellow.

 

I think it was available in '07 and '08 and not '09, wasn't it? I think when I first configured mine as an '08, it was still available.

I just liked the name because it was one of the only ones I thought of (actually, my wife thought of it) that could sound both romantic and graceful as well as sassy.

I ordered my 09 in 9/08. I was looking through an option booklet I picked up at the dealer and it offered the door rings in EO. My MA said that that option had never been available that he knew of. I think that would have looked very nice. Has anyoner ever heard of this option?

Now that you all have mentioned this it got me to looking around. I spend most of my time in the out skirts of Baltimore and DC. I have seen Red, BRG, LY and Blue MC's, but not MY, other then mine. Very cool........

I will do that very thing and yes, there are some great roads in that area. I grew up in Roanoke and went to high school at Agusta. I use to go through the Afton Gap in my Triumph very often. Would like to try it in my MC, but my guess is the road is not the same anymore.
