Engine Replacement

2013 Mini Cooper Countryman Base - 1.6L 4Cyl GAS N16B16A1.6L 4Cyl GAS N16B16A

There is a split year for these Engine for this. January/Feb 2013

I can see a difference in part numbers for a short block - but everything else appears to be the same. Can anyone shed light on what the difference is? Car part.com also shows this difference - just looking for best option for engine replacement

I don't have knowledge to answer this question, but you've been sitting here alone a while. If you can do a little research and find an independent MINI mechanic near you, they might be able to help. They also might have special pricing on replacement engines from MINI and get a better price even if you install it yourself.

I use www.Car-part.com to source cross reference and part interchange for parts between the Mini build lines
