I just picked up a 2011 Countryman S All4, and it is Crystal Silver with a red roof. The roof is painted and not a wrap. It looks to be original paint....or at least it was painted correctly (all trim removed). The VIN decoder says that it should have white mirrors and roof though.

Anyone know if a red roof was optional in 2011 and the VIN decoder is just wrong? Also, can anyone tell what red the roof is? Pure Red? Chili Red?

The side stripes and roof are a deeper shade of red than the hood stripes, but I know the hood stripes are not original as I can see original fading from previous stripes in a slightly different position.

 

There was no red roof option in 2011. You couldn't get an R60 with a red roof until they came out with the JCW in 2013 or 2014.

The hood and side stripes look to be identical to the factory options, though they could have been added later obviously.

People had them painted, my R58 JCW was painted alpine white (silver, black were the options) and white mirror then restriped as those hood and trunk could not be ordered, it was done by the dealership body shop for like 4K. Typical of MINI owner who when bought new had custom things done. This was very popular for JCW models and MINI from 2002-2006.
