An 11-year old Mini might not be a full money pit, but it could be close if you have to take it to a mechanic for any maintenance items. If you can perform your own work on the car, you'll be much better off.

That being said, the 2011 turbo engine should be relatively reliable. The fuel pump might give you issue, they cost a lot, but they can be swapped out pretty easily. Manual transmission? The clutch could be on its way out with that many miles on it. The thermostat is know to only last 100k miles or so.

Find out what kind of maintenance history it has, and spend the money to get a dealer pre-purchase inspection.

I would walk away....

Bought mine 4 months ago. With in a week the Turbo blew up! $4800+ repair plus valve cover gasket and PCV valve. Thankfully Turbo and labor was covered under extended warranty.

A week later, the AC blend door actuator started acting up. Still need to figure out how to change that out. Anyone have an idea where its located? I've heard left and right and others have no clue.

Now the front strut mount bearings/bushings are out. Cracked even..... Cant find after market replacement shocks/struts that are complete kits. Unless buying coilovers and DO NOT need those for a daily driver. Can not find parts, or parts that are the correct fit!

About to send this car over a cliff! Or trade it somewhere else.
