My 2011 Countryman stripes have seen better days. I'm on the fence whether or not to take them off and not put new ones back on, but afraid I'll regret that move. How many out there prefer stripes no plain, without stripes?

In the case of a 10 YO stripe, removing them may very well leave shadows on the bonnet. Replacing may be your only option and it's not that hard to do, there are videos available to help. To get them off, use a hairdryer to soften them and they'll peel right off.

 

I'm a no strip guy...... However Fly'n Brick is probably right about the shadow effect. I actually had that affect on a rig that I de-badged once.

 

I'm a subtle-stripe guy.

Matte black with red edges on the bonnet. I've since removed the wide side stripe.

 

the ghost stripe left after removing a plastic stripe is the ULTIMATE 'subtle' effect, but you have no control.

SOME folks pay airbrush guys a BUNCH to achieve the same effect ....

I took the factory stripes off our R59 cuz they when to crap FAST ..... (less than 2 years)

after they came off there IS a shadow left in the Eclipse Grey pant ....
