R60 Coding Equipment

Hi Guys,

please excuse the basic questions. I’ve been reading through the coding threads but I have some questions. Please could someone be kind enough to detail exactly what equipment I need. Will an OBD 2 Bluetooth connector be sufficient? And what software will I need? I want to reprogram my comfort access keys to the car as they aren’t recognised by the car when I approach.

many thanks

Don't mess with any scanner that claims it can do comfort access key programming, or key programming in general. Good Tools for key programming are 3k plus and specialized.
I believe what you are looking for is a setting that should be easy to change on your cluster menu. Also check that your battery in the key fob has sufficient power.
For the love of all that is Mini do not mess with anything related to your cars CAS without expert help.

I use a Carly for Coding, you can reach out to them directly and see if they have the Comfort Key reprogramming available.
https://www.mycarly.com/

Originally I did do all the software on a PC but it was super kludged together, mostly in German but it worked (I had a shorted wire to one of the brake lights that after fixing needed to be reset in one of the modules to start working). The Carly app with the wireless dongle was much more confidence inspiring....
