R60 Purchasing 2015 Countryman All4 S
Purchasing 2015 Countryman All4 S
Hello,
First post and I'm looking for some advice from the seasoned members of this forum!
As of now I am planning on buying a used manual transmission 2015 Countryman All4 S towards the end of this week. The car has about 40000 miles on it and will be getting for around 18000; it started out on the Ford lot at 26000 six months ago and I have them down 8000 to 18K. I assumed they want it gone at any price at this point. The CarFax is clean. (I don't know how much that matters!)
I test drove the car for about 20 minutes the other day, looked over everything, sat in it running for five minutes or more revving the engine and listening. Nothing seemed amiss and the car is in excellent condition. Very clean, very smooth ride, looks great, sounds great. I was shocked at how smooth it rides at 85 mph. Very quiet, felt like I was going only 30!
I am wondering if there are any common problems with the 2015 Countryman that I will need to be aware of. The internet is full of opinions and most seem slightly negative. **But!** I know this is because rarely are the satisfied customers as motivated to tell their great experiences as the unsatisfied are to let their bad experiences be known.
So, as subjective as possible, could some of you wonderful folks help me out!
I appreciate it 100%!

You still have 10K miles and some years left on original warranty I presume? Take it to MINI dealer for a check up. Most of the early problems were dealt with in the early years like bad clutch, fuel pump, solenoids, etc. Sounds like a steal of a deal.
Yeap, the balance of the warranty is still there, you're spot on there! That lessens some of my worry. This is the first car I'm buying not completely with cash, so I'm getting the last minute jitters!
Thanks!
Thanks!
That is a deal. We just paid $17k for our 2012 S All4 base model. Granted it only has 34k miles, a flawless mechanical history, and a brand new set of tires. That was the "internet" price, is probably could have shaved some down, but I was in a hurry and my wife loved the car. To our surprise it still has a year of pre-paid maintenance on it.
You could always take the car to Mini for a pre-purchase inspection. They'll scan the key fob and tell you what service is has had or needs.

I got my 2015 for 22 with 24k miles, so far so good with mine haha granted ive only put 1k miles on it. but yeah it cruises nice, everything should have been delt with on the earlier models so now its just normal n18 things

Thats a great deal!
I just got my FULLY loaded 2012 S All4 with only 10k miles on it for $17k (the bank was shocked when they ran it through NADA and it came back at $21500!)
Anyway... If I hadn't found this deal, I would have been in a 2015 as well. I did some research and couldn't find much of anything myself. A few ppl had to replace water pumps around 30k-50k miles. And the factory warranty does carry over.
Pull the trigger and get it!
I've had mine for 2 weeks. Speeding is my #1 problem. I feel like I'm not even moving if I'm below 70! I had to set the "Speed Alarm" to help keep me from speeding.

wow! you did get a bargain. I just bought a 2013 S All4 with 43,0000 miles for $18,500 -- talked them down from $20K. In my research, most of the 2013's were in the 18-19 range, the 2014's were in the 20K range, and the 2015's were running around 21-22K (Minnesota)
I'm sure having it sit on their lot for 6 months contributed greatly to their willingness to bargain! Nice job -- pics?!??

Excellent! You have all helped reduce my anxiety!
No pics yet, right now I'm leveraging this deal against a Countryman at another dealer and am seeing how this plays out. I told the dealer I originally went to I was no longer interested in their stock, so please stop emailing me, unless they have some comically low offers to start bringing to the table. The calls have started. I've avoided their three calls today, will -maybe- call back tomorrow and see what they can magically do now. If they do come back with an offer that's worth my time I'll have ammo to try to get my current deal down more on the '15; just going to wait them out for a bit so I can turn the screws a little more!
The worst that could happen is they say no!!
Well, of course, this could all backfire and leave me with nothing!
Thanks for your input, everyone! I really appreciate it!

Nevermind. I ended up buying a BMW 530i from a private seller. As much as I liked the Countryman the BMW was more car for less money and purchased from certified mechanic friend and long time BMW enthusiast. Maybe next time!
Thanks to everyone for the input! I really appreciate the help.
