Can you enable sport mode to just be "on" and turn it off with the button?

Frequently I get annoyed that I don't have the punch I want from my 2012 CM. Is there a way to just make sport mode "ON" by default?

Also - I have no idea if it's psyhological because maybe I speed faster and coast more, but I swear I get better mileage in Sport mode. For non sport mode I get 24.4 MPG on average. With sport mode on through 2 fillups I am up to 25.6 MPG.

Anyone know this?

As far as I've seen there isn't away to have an auto on sport button, I've seen it brought up a few times so far and it comes down to being a software switch vs a physical on/off switch.

I can say I just got a Manic Motorsports tune on my CM last Thursday. My car is stock except for a drop in filter, driving around on map 1 is like sport on steroids, and since its the loaded map I don't have to ever hit the button It also seems to have improved my mileage too (when not enjoying the manic portion of the tune). Went from 27 to 29 on my commute so far, however only been a week so only time will tell, plus its hard not to gun it.

No way to do this via any kind of coding in ESYS or any other software that I'm aware of - BMW/MINI owners have been trying to do this for almost a decade. There are hardware hacks in progress, but I don't know if any have beared any fruit. The Sport button has also changed in the 3rd gen MINIs so I don't know how that will affect these projects or if anyone will try.
