R60 Audio Source Default
Audio Source Default
I've got a 2011 Countryman, comfort access and for the life of me I can't figure out how to get the audio to default to anything but AUX. I've been sharing the car recently with my son who uses AUX. I mainly use the USB input but even after driving with USB on and then being the next one to use the car it still goes back to AUX if I've been out of the car for more than a few minutes.
Am I missing the simple obvious solution? Manual was of no help, seemingly you can store settings on the key fob, but if I'm not inserting fob when starting up how does that do anything?

If there's an aux cable still plugged into the port that could be the reason. I don't have comfort access on my 2015 and noticed it defaults USB for me and radio for my lady. This does also mean that I'm using the key slot, but I'd figure that comfort access is smart enough. Do any other settings stay on your son's preferences when you get in the car? I can't think of any at this time
It is plugged in, but I disconnect it and then use the car. After stopping somewhere and then restarting after more than a few minutes it will go back to AUX. Sometimes A/C comes on and sometimes not, not real pattern to that.
btw - he finally asked me why I keep disconnecting the cable
, he is back to school next week so I will some months to experiment.

So to be clear, you're disconnecting the cable before you even touch the start/stop button?
In trying to think like a car (or what the engineers thought to be logical), I'd presume that anything in the AUX is the desired audio source, since it can only be used for audio, whereas the USB can also be used to just charge a device. So if both are plugged in, the AUX would take priority as audio. This is just me typing aloud to myself, but hopefully it makes sense and helps you figure out a solution. You could also try using the key slot to see if it changes things

I am pretty sure that it stores all the preferences with the key. Do you and your son use the same key? Try using different keys. Just a thought, I do not know for sure.
However, the idea that it will always turn to aux if there is something plugged in makes sense.
