R60 Adding Bluetooth Audio to Stock Mini Countryman
Adding Bluetooth Audio to Stock Mini Countryman
Soapbox speech - Am I the only one who was disappointed that Mini didn't include Bluetooth Audio for the stock radio? Why should we have to buy the Mini Connect package just to get a feature which is now standard on cheaper models from other makers.
Mini states that bluetooth is standard, but its actually only bluetooth for phone, not bluetooth for audio. Well - here's my solution to that problem...it's relatively cheap and works pretty well...Tune2Air.
Here's a video showing how the integration works:

If you live in the US - be sure to order this from a US distributor (just in case you decide to return/exchange it). I've purchased 3 of these, one was bad and had to be returned.

I agree that it should be standard, but nobody's "blackmailing" anyone into buying anything. We were all aware when we bought our cars that Bluetooth audio was not available without Connected, and we made the decision to buy anyway. Fortunately, there are options (such as what you're showing) that allow those of us without Connected to work around what we're missing.
Cheaper makes/models offer more options to get people to consider them. It's like when the cheaper hotels have free WiFi, breakfast, etc.

I just got my tuen2air few days ago from Amazon for my Samsung S4, the only thing that donesnt work is that it can not display songs name on the radio like OP does... but since the radio itself cant display anything but English anyway so I don't care ..
and I can skip and go back ....

I got one of these from Amazon for about $11 and plugged it into my Y adapter. Works great with my iPhone 5. the only issue is the next/back buttons on my steering wheel don't work, but that is ok. My phone is sitting up high in a Cravenspeed Flexpod with Waze running so I can just flip up the control panel on the phone to adjust if necessary.

The other advantage is I get to play podcasts. Not sure if Connected will do this, but the HK default system WILL NOT with any iPod connected to the Y cable.
Hey, you want to get AskTheTeach in an uproar - call a base cooper a base.
