50 or 55 series

Hey gang, I'm finally ditching the run craps. I've got the stock 18's with the 225-45's.. I want to go as tall as I can without lifting. I was gonna lift the car, but decided against it. Will 225-55's rub at stock height? I know the 225-50 will clear.

TIA,
-bg8

i am running 205/70R16 winter tires, od is 27.3" and there is no rubbing, but it is very close at full lock and when the suspension is compressed

a 225/55R18 is both wider and taller at 27.8" od ... i suspect it will rub

i would suggest a test fit of the 225/55R18

i test fit the 205/70s at a neighborhoos independant tire store ... we also test mounted a 205/75R16 of 28.1"OD and it rubbed

please post your results
