With 60 miles on the car, it was torn down to investigate. You all knew if it was out there, I'd find it.
Well, good news -- it's not perfect, but it's a hell of a start.
MINI still needs to come forward with a fix. This does NOT get them off the hook, as these are pretty extreme measures.

Sorry for being vague, but I've sent a 4-page letter detailing the process and findings to MINI up through the management chain.
My goal was to discredit/disprove the corporate answers that said the new N18 JCW engine was causing the issue, and was not resolvable. I knew from having the N18 that this was incorrect, hence my work in doing this.
Hopefully this is seen by the correct set of eyes in the next week or so, and then we can look forward to a real, official fix.

2013 CM JCW Crystal Silver with black top, 19-in wheels, stubby antenna, driving lights, black gravity leather, piano black interior, nav, sunroof, and a few other things. I am having a blast with this car.
