I noticed today that when closing the rear doors hard and sometimes the front doors, there was a loud rattling coming from under the car. Has anyone else noticed this? Seems to be coming from the skid plate under the rear doors. Now that I have noticed the noise, its driving me crazy. How can I fix it?

 

We have the same sound. My guess is it is the exhaust heat shield, but I don't know for sure.

 

License plate on rear hatch? Or, jack it up, support it safely and explore underneath and see what you can find. Should be pretty easy to spot the problem?

 

Yeah I crawled around and tapped what I am guessing is one of the exhaust heat shields. I made the same sound I have been hearing but I can't seem to figure out how to make it stop rattling.

 

I have the same thing going on in my car. I also hear it buzz sometimes when accelerating lightly. It annoys the crap out of me b.c I am very tuned into my car, so any little difference in sound or feel I notice.

 

I hear the same from under mine when it is cold. When the car is warm it does not make the sound. Leads me to belive it is the exhaust (have a Magnaflow) is the rattle and when it expands from heat it stops.

 

I havent tried listening for it when the car was warmed up. I will have to try that.
