Consistent RDS Display

I just brought my baby home -- Oxford Green All4 with Connect/Nav.

I love most of what I have experienced so far, but I have one silly question about the radio display.

Has anybody found a way to always display the RDS info, especially in the presets panel?

I've loaded all of my favorite FM and satellite stations into presets, and I like to automatically display the song title / artist for any station that I am listening to. It seems like the only way to display the info is to go about 4 levels deep into the display, and choose 'display station info' once you have selected a station. And, even once I've done that, it will turn itself off when I shut down the car.

Any tricks that I'm missing?

Nope. That's pretty much it. Welcome to BMW/MINI.

P.S. It's also pretty much normal for it to change stations to what it wants to listen to. Just tell it "No!" and put yours back on.

Yes, overall very well designed, but that is one feature that is really stupid. I also wish you could scroll through artists (when listen through ipod/flash drive) by being aloud to pick a letter (similar to the menu through entering nav directions). I have over 400 artists, good luck not getting a hand cramp scrolling to an artist near the end of the alphabet.

I've noticed that if you turn off "HD"you will see the RDS scroll on the display. Not a good solution, but it will always display RDS if the station is broadcasting it.

If you are in preset mode, click over to the right view channel info. This will display artist info etc. Changing the channels from your steering wheel will keep the info there. Unfortunately when you go out of that mode (phone call) you have toggle back. Still to this day not sure why preset mode doesn't look like the radio/sat mode.

Earlier post about the ipod if you are in ipod mode and quickly toggle letters appear on the screen and you can quickly go to that letter.
