Countryman Coupe

Car and Driver is reporting the Countryman Coupe (Paceman Concept) will be coming out in 2013 http://blog.caranddriver.com/mini-co...as-2013-model/

Has MINI jumped the shark?

I thought they jumped it when the Countryman came out but now I love it and since I now own one shows that. I will have to say I need to wait and see it in person.

I think it looks pretty cool. I owned a Mazda Navajo and a 2 door Explorer, so I can definitely see the appeal. These days I already have a 2 door New Beetle, so when it comes to my daily driver, I prefer 4 doors. But I could see the countryman coupe being a success.

BTW.. In the concept preview, the paceman looks either A. Lowered or B. Bigger wheels and tires to fill up the gap! Did anyone see this in person to clarify instead of drool and not pay attention?

Hopefully with the two door they added some functional arm rests.

How about functional cup holders! I know it sounds petty, but with limited storage already, more functional cup holders would be a Win Win in my book!

Oh, Americans and their cup holders. I think we should change our national flag to feature a 64oz big gulp.

Heck, I just want functional cupholders that can fit a 20oz container...not asking for the world.....seems the 1st Gen's had a great add-on option that clipped to the side of the center console.....Clubman had same problem......still love the cars and am anxiously awaiting the arrival of the CC......

Not a bad idea, then we can charge 7-11 every time a flag is flown....... Many think our country is already owned by interest groups and corporations, why not make it official

I am sure MINI might do what they did from 2005-2006 and provide one massive cup holder that could be a retrofit (first with MINIFINI's and then their own).

People have been complaining about the cup holders for over 10 years now. I'm sure they won't be changing them for this model, which will probably have most of the same parts as the Countryman. I'm not sure what's wrong with the armrest, but I find it functional.

I'm sure the first half of the car would be completely the same as existing countryman. So the new coupe model likely to Share the common technical problem like cm, engine malfunction, chrome stickers etc.

whats wrong with the 2 cup holders in the front?
pretty cool if you ask me.
I'm coming from VW/Audi for the last 22 yrs. The 1st cup holder VW offered was in 1999 and it was a flimsy design that spills your beverage into the vents & radi while replacement was $100+.

My guess is that we'll be able to place orders for the CC Oct/Nov of 2012? Anyone else have different information? Thoughts?

I can't tell if it has frameless windows, but that's one of my top pet peeves on my CM. That's something I miss from the other MINIs I've had.
