couple more, and after installing with the wingnuts on the back crossbar, I will probably do the drill mount option when I feel like drilling on the shiny new metal.

Looks great @JasonCarp! I did drill thru the trays for the "stealth mode" look. It's rock solid (so far) and have had no problems with it.

Show us some more pics of the white in better light - I bet it looks fabulous!

Some information on the front wheel holders if anyone is interested:

1- The MINI OEM front wheel holders are re-labeled BMW parts.
2- Good news is that they slide into the OEM roof bars instead of simply clamping onto the bars, adding a lot more anti-theft security compared to Thule or Yakima wheel holders.
3- Awful news: they permanently stand upright and DON'T fold down !!!

Not sure what to do, they will look ridiculous on the car, and I don't have the patience to mount them on/off every time I go for a ride. EDIT: Returned them to dealer, screw it. Wheels will go in the boot.

ARGH !!!! Why is something so simple, so damn complicated to get right?

Oh here's what it looks like: http://www.amazon.com/BMW-Racing-Cyc.../dp/B004FRFLOY

Okay...hoping this is not too specific of a question BUT, has anybody ordered the Red
RockyMounts Euro PitchFork? I'm wondering how well it will match my red 2011 CMS. And those who have the RockyMounts, what do you think? Are they sturdy and reliable? Thanks for the info.

Ironalura, I have the white euro pitchfork but I have seen the red in person. Unfortunately it is a much deeper red than the CM Pure Red, it is closer to the Chili Red. That doesn't mean it won't compliment the car, it just won't be an exact match.

I find the RockyMounts to be very solid. I've used Thule on previous vehicles and the RM seem to be a little more heavy duty. I find that they don't 'flex' like my old ones did. See if there is an rack outfitter in your area, they usually carry all of the major brands.

Good luck.

ironalura - the RM Red is a "redder" red (like Chili Red), as opposed to the orangey hue that Pure Red seems to have.

Are they sturdy and reliable - you bet!! I love 'em!

Bigdog100, the euro pitchfork requires an adapter for 15 and 20mm thru axles.
It is called the Drive-shaft.
I believe it mounts to the pitchfork and uses the same lock cores.
Not sure on the price.

Did you order the red one, I have the red mini with black roof. Just wondering how the red looks.

OEM Bike Rack

Here are some pictures of the OEM rack from Mini that attaches to the tow connections in the bumper, very easy.
