That sounds like a $250 option that I would not like to entrust to MINI/BMW.

Sealy - Who was worried enough about getting a mini connect.

I'm not sure im following what your talking about, are you talking about the round part on the hatch just behind the rear center seat? if so im assuming that is the motor assembly for the rear wiper...

Sorry. I'm being a complete idiot and a trouble maker. Idle amusement at the expense of a bench seat owner. Note how the stitching makes a big circle. It also blocks where your dog comes from the back, up the rail, and into the front seat.

Sealy - Who now returns you to our more serious postings.

Oh gotcha, yeah I did realize it makes a circle. That part lowers individually from the other seats. Unfortunately my one dog is a hyper active over excited car traveler so I just put the seats down and they stay in a crate as we cruise. LoL

Totally correct. Keep trying, it works.

The l/8" silver head on my headrests seems to go through the big nut--do you push that silver head all the way out, that is, if it pushes out. It seems that would release the nut and allow the head rest to be lowered. I cannot push the silver head while simultaneously pushing the bigger button on the side to get it to lower. I don't want to belabor this issue any more but it seems I just cannot do it and the only recourse is to remove the headrests altogether. But thank you for trying to help me.

I don't know how to further explain this unless you take a picture. I put some pictures up showing which buttons to press.

The little square button is about 1/8" on a side. It is black and on the other side of the normal adjustment button. You need two hands. Press the button and with a small screwdriver on something else push in the little button. I used my forehead to push down on the headrest.

I agree. The headrests were blocking the view even more than the carseats. Thanks for this information and the 20 second fix.

Thank you so much! This info was what I needed. I didn't know it was possible to push those headrests all the way down, so I just accepted it. Then I saw this thread, and, wow, it's one of those information that you didn't think was useful, but it absolutely is! This site has helped me tremendously. You guys are great?

Sealy is correct! As a matter of fact, I just tried the same trick last night. All headrests, including the back seat, went all the way down. Chrome no longer exposed!

p.s. The Dealership advised me that the headrests would not go all the way down...

2013 Countryman S, with rear bench seat!
