Headrests won't go any lower??
Is it just mine or do all CM headrests' NOT go down to where the chrome rails are no longer visible (eliminating that annoying gap). I've never had a car with headrests that didn't (or couldn't) rest right at the top of the backrest. Anyone?
|
mine doesnt either.... there's this annoy gap. which isn't present in the hatch or clubmans? right?

One post has an obvious release button that lets the headrest go up and down. The other one has a not so obvious button - you'll need something small to poke it in. Do both buttons at the same time while pushing down on the headrest. Or pull it up if you want to remove it. May take a bit of finagling.

Sealy is on the money.

I always use my key to press in the small button so I can put the rear headrests all the way down. You can use that if you don't have a screwdriver handy.
|
Nice tip, guys! I knew the second button was for removing the headrests, but I didn't realize it would help with putting them down further. That'll make it so I don't have to move the front seats when I'm throwing the back seats up or down. Thanks!

It worked. Thanks guys

Thank you, Sealy. Great tip. Backseat headrests look much better flush to the seatback.

This rates as the number 1 tip of the year. Now, all is well. Thank you, Sealy.

Here I was thinking this might have been a dumb question. Apparently not. Glad I asked.

We took our middle one out all together. Helps to see out of the little back window.
|
I regularly pop the back ones out and put em in the floor when i put the seats down, but never thought to try that button to lower them! nice! thanks

And thanks for the tip about the other post Sealy!! |
Great tip! Thx!
|
Yeah it's definitely a lot better. Looks better and better visibility.
|
Thanks Sealy for this tip. Had mine for a month and just got around to dropping the headrests... that gap was awful. Amazing how much better visibility than before. I asked my MA in Pittsburgh about dropping them before I left the showroom floor and he said it wasn't possible to do. I love this forum. You guys and gals are the best!!!

After our first 6 hour drive in our countryman - both DH and myself both have sore necks due to the placement of the front headrests. They seem to jut our heads forward slightly. Not a ton - but more then our other cars/trucks and over a long trip it became literally a pain in the neck.
Has anyone else found this with long distances? Maybe our headrests are too high? |

I'm 5'5 - so kind of average for a chick I think. It's the angle as you say: it pushes your head forward a bit. Didn't even notice it in shorter drives - but for longer ones it really started to bug. I'm going to try lowering it all the way down tomorrow to see if that helps.
