I'm wondering, as I think I've read in this thread, where those who ordered their MINIs are getting a surprise present but those of us who picked it up off the lot aren't? just curious if anyone who bought from dealer stock has gotten something straight from MINI vs. the dealership, as I'm sure that varies from dealership to dealership.

 

We ordered ours in December 2010 and picked it up at the dealership in March 2011. Got absolutely nothing from MINI Canada nor the dealership. Oh well.

 

hmmm, so maybe they have a punch bowl and occasionally pull out a MINI owner name. :-)

 

 

I think MINI stopped the welcome packet sent via mail at the beginning of the year. If you go through the posts on this thread it seems to be the break point. Since then people are posting about free stuff from the dealer at delivery time, but the thread was originally about a care package from MINI USA sent snail mail.
I got one when we took delivery of the R53 in 2006, and I also got one for the CM which was delivered on December 28th.

 

I had mine ordered. Received a pack of gum.

 

Ordered mine, picked up in May, got a whole bootful of nothing.
I wonder if the swag is related to the dealers and their competition; I live in STL, and there's only one dealer here, with the next closest in CHI or KC.

 

I received a handful of goodies at the time of delivery when I ordered my 2008 R56. However this time around when I picked up my ordered 2012 R60 S All4 August 31st, I got the keys and the car - that's it. Same dealership too. And it wasn't even finished. Stripes weren't on yet, they've since been half done. It goes back tomorrow for completion of the stripes.

I financed through MINI so maybe that's why I got stuff.

With my first MINI they actually ended up sending me 3 welcome kits...came with Smint MINI mints, highway bingo and some other stuff I actually still have all of it still in it's boxes. Never got around to playing highway bingo.

Went with my own bank, though. Maybe that is the difference!

 

In 2008 I got a survival kit from Mini with a mini pen, mouse pad, notebook, decals etc. Nice things. With my new 2012, I have received nothing from Mini. The dealer - "Towne Mini" in Buffalo, NY - gave me an etched and personalized Mini coffee mug, a new red Mini hat to match my car and also a new Mini key chain. I thought that was great!

I am jealous, I bought my 2012 CM on June 22, 2012 and still nothing. Maybe it take a while to get to Colorado

 

I bought my 2010 MCS straight off the lot and I got a package in the mail full of swag about a month after my purchase. In June I took delivery of a 2012 MCS that I had ordered and have yet to receive anything. I'm wondering if it has to do with dealerships. My first dealership was very enthusiastic, the second mini I bought from bmw's military sales program and picked up at a stateside dealership. Since that dealership didn't get any of my money, I don't think they were fully invested in the customer experience.

 

Good point, maybe the dealership has a lot to do with it. I will go check with Ralph Schomp and let everyone know

Well, last night I write that I didn't receive anything for buying my 2012 Mini and did with my 2008. Yeh, you guessed it.........I get home from work and there's the package from Mini USA. Its a cinch sack/pack pack and inside theres the Mini Cooper pen, driving log, mouse pad, USB thumb drive in the shape of a Mini, antennae 8 ball, the "10 years in the USA sticker", 101 Fundamentals of Motoring Book and the European Mini Magazine. Same as above.... name tag and paper clip. Nice to be thought of by Mini. This is just good glove box stuff and relations by Mini. I love the USB too. So that you know, I bought my car in May so don't give up if you haven't received anything as of yet.

 

I pretty much received the same thing as this today. Quite a surprise & pretty cool indeed.

I got the same as SunnySideUp and SmithWerks today as well. Extremely surprised, but very cool. The 1GB thumb drive is worthless as a drive, but awesome as a conversation piece.
I really like the faux-Moleskine and pen. It's a nice looking item, and the pen is surprisingly cool.
I picked mine up in mid-May, so there must be waves of these going out.

 

Its been 3 months. Ordered and leased. Nothing, just a roadside assistance card (which I have to pay to use it)

 

My wife bought her R56 in May and I bought my CMS in July, both new 2012's and nothing for either of us. Both financed with MINI (BMW). She got Bonnet stripes and I got nothing, I talked them down so much they werent giving me anything. LOL!
