Talking Say hi to "Friendly Jack" :)

Finally brought our new car home yesterday after a few months of waiting. 2011 Cooper Countryman 6MT. We added the sport suspension, H/K Radio, iPod integration and fog lights. This is our 7th Mini overall (3rd MINI). I guess we're kinda bonkers for Minis in general

(Edit - oops!) Ordered 14 May 2011, Delivered 20 August 2011.

Here's us at the dealership right before driving off. Traded in my '06 Cooper 5MT. Good little car - going to miss it.

10 minutes after we left the dealership I was already talking to someone about the car. Even handed out one of my MA's business cards. For some reason he gave me extra.

Our Countryman at home. My '66 Austin Cooper S is parked in front. Poor little car has been sittin' for a while. Pardon the mess...hopefully going to start working on making the '66 all nice 'n pretty soon!

Headed to Honolulu to do some shopping. The steering in the Countryman (07+ cars?) is really light compared to what I'm used to in my '06. I like the engine, but haven't gotten on it yet - still breaking it in, as it only had 10 miles when we took delivery.

This is why you don't get the 1 piece center rail.

I *love* this poster they had up at the dealership!

*** SAVE THE MANUALS!!! *** If you have the capability, motor with your 3rd pedal hangin' out. Don't give up your right to "row your own!"

Oh and in case anyone wonders, I'm 6'6". I can't fit comfortably in the 07+ cars with a sunroof. As it is I've got maybe an inch or inch and a half between my skull and the headliner.

Not sure why MINI decided to put the "bump" across the width of the headliner, but it takes space away from us tall folk. Granted, there's something like 0.25% of the population that is taller than me, but c'mon! Tall folks like to motor, too!

Greetings and a well done from one "Jack" to another. That color combination is a head-turner. I noticed that the asphalt showed signs of a recent rain in your corner of paradise. Have fun.

So, what color did you get?

Sealy - Who welcomes you to a growing number of tasteful PR people.

P.S. Check the settings on your camera. For some reason it inverted the color on your roof.

Speaking of the roof... Not sure why MINI decided to put silver roof rails on a black roof. Might get those re-shot in gloss black, along with the side marker jambes by the A pillar. Gotta get 'er tinted first!

Of course it rained after I spent some time washing my '06 to take it in, and then rained once we bought the new car. Silly atmosphere.

Congrats! I'm also located on Oahu and I'm patiently awaiting a 2012. I'll keep my eye out for Jack and shaka if I see you!

Wassup - I grew up in Hawai'i! Went to St. Louis High School, lived in Ewa Beach and Waikiki! Haven't been back since '95 and really miss it - but planning a trip soon!
