Passenger Visor Mirror light always on

I have noticed over the last few weeks it appears the passenger side visor mirror light is always on. I have noticed it when having the sun visor down heading to work in the early morning while still kind of dark outside. You can see the vanity light glow around the mirror cover. I have played around with it and the only way it seems to go off is if I have the visor flipped mostly up, the mirror cover open, and then slightly raise the visor again. If I lower the visor and open/close the cover the light does not go off.

Anyone see or experience this? Wondering what the fix is?

Two fixes come to mind:
1) take off the plastic plugs, unscrew the 2 screws to remove the visor and unplug the connector so it doesn't cause a constant power drain
2) replace the visor - just about as easy as the above, except for the cost (last time I bought on it was about $80).

Next time I am around the dealer area (140 miles away) I am going to show them this. Should be something under warranty. Hopefully next trip will be replacing the chrome tape with real replacement parts.

Hi guys,

I found out the same issue with the right side sun visor. It is always on no matter if the visor is closed, open, up, or down. The only way it turns off is by pressing on the mirror cover and deactivating the switch.

I'm going to try to fix it myself before ordering it new. Here is the part online, in case you have not found it yet.

I will keep you posted.

Thanks

Why would you order a new visor? Mini should replace this free under warranty. It is a defective part.
