Rain Sensing Wipers sensitivity

Rain Sensing Wipers sensitivity

I went to the SET/INFO to set it up But i wonder which side is the most sensitive? To the right with a cloud with some rain with a writting on it that says max? Is that the most sensitive setting?

Or is it to the left where there's a cloud with little rain saying MIN?

To me, i see no difference in changing these settings. So i'm just wondering which side is the most sensitive

thanks

You are adjusting the sensitivity of the sensor's triggering of the intermittent wipers, thus, "MIN" means the LEAST sensitive setting (takes more droplets in the sensor's "view" to activate) and "MAX" means the MOST sensitive setting (takes fewer droplets on the sensor's view to activate). This difference is most noticeable after a downpour ends and the tires on the vehicle in front of you are kicking-up a mist or if you are driving in drizzly conditions. A medium to hard rain should trigger the sensor in either setting.

Also, remember that the delay between wipe cycles is speed sensitive. With the settings constant, sitting at a stoplight in the rain will cause the wipe cycle to be its most delayed. As the vehicle speed increases, the wipe cycle will shorten.

While we're at it . . . does anyone else think it's stoopid to have to go through a menu tree on the turn signal stalk to adjust the sensitivity? My BMW had the sensitivity setting on the wiper stalk. Made it much more useful.

Ahmen, Brother!

My 328i has this nice rotating wheel for sensitivity...but...my '04 MCS JCW has NO control over the sensor's sensitivity! I'm incensed!
