R60 Differences to my old '05 MCSa and a CM
Differences to my old '05 MCSa and a CM
Had an '05 s convertible. Sold it, shouldn't have. Was thinking I should maybe get a little 4 door to be practical with kiddoes but didn't think I'd be happy with anything other than a MINI. Then it hit me (when one drove by), the Countryman!
Looking for comparisons to the first gen MINI Cooper S for anyone who has had both.
Be looking around the forum for a feel of it but wanted to say hello.
TIA,
Tony

1. The turbo is a lot different than the supercharger. So far, I think I like the SC better, but I'm getting used to the turbo. It kicks in and really PULLS.
2. It doesn't handle as well as the MCS does, but there's really no way around that as it's "different" on purpose. HOWEVER, it's as close to an MCS in a crossover as you're going to get.
3. I think I got better gas mileage with the MCS (so far).
4. AC was better in the MCS, for whatever that's worth.
But, overall, it's a damn fine car and still a Mini. And it's as close to having an MCS as you're going to get in a 4 door anything.
