Timing is everything.

My MA said it would get to the dealer 'a few days' after arrival in port, unless the VDC finds a problem. After it gets to my dealer (in Sacramento), in addition to pre-delivery inspection they are installing mud flaps. I would guess a few more days, depending on how many new cars they get and how busy the service department is.

I just missed watching the Platinum Ray go through the Miraflores Locks in Panama. Had to go pick up a grandchild at school; when I got back she was gone into the Pacific....

Jenben, I haven't seen any boats going to Galveston. I'm guessing maybe they're aren't enough cars heading this way. Not sure but whatever the case, we found out today that my car is going to Brunswick, GA. Now if only we could get on an actual boat to make that trip! There's a boat heading that direction tomorrow so here's to hoping!

Just heard from my MA that the car is in the port. I don't have the heart to tell him that I KNOW ALREADY, JUST GIVE ME THE CAR.

I'm tired of the wrangler. It's got its uses. This particular one really wants to be a side road and off road cruiser...

Well Rupert is supposed to be at port!!! I was tracking the Dover Highway and when it got close to Brunswick it said out of range! I hope that means it didn't get hijacked by pirates! Haha!!!

It's no joke that the last two weeks are the hardest! My MiniPerson said it takes about a week from port to the dealership... Let's hope it's the 5 day week and not the real 7 day week!

I got a call from my dealer and they said my MINI Countryman is ready for me to pick it up on Monday! I'm so excited!!!

Curious though, the MINI owner's lounge still lists the status as "En Route to VDC" and the ASK MINI hotline system says the vehicle is in transit. I guess those systems a bit behind...

Congratulations!. Mine is sitting in my garage and yet the "MINI Lounge" still says its at the VDC. You would think it would update at least now.

So weird about the tracking system being completely wrong when it comes to the most important part, to let you know it's ready to pickup at your dealer! Haha!

Yeah it has been a long time. Being that it's ready now is a big surprise as I wasn't expecting to pick it up until the end of February. The main delay was that the dealer had only so many slots to place orders for MINI Countrymans at the time I went in to put down a deposit, so I had to wait until they could place their next order.

Cool! So I guess we will be getting our car around the same time! Almost there...counting down the days...

There were quite a few updates once it got to the Panama Canal. It moved pretty quickly through there. Now it is once again out of range while in the Pacific...

The ASK MINI robot changed its message overnight. My car is now in transit! No telling what ship. I'm hoping it actually left on the 15th on the Turandot or Sagittarius Leader, but MiniMouse17 said there's a ship leaving today too, so maybe it's on that. I have an email out to my MA to try to find out for sure. On to the next step!

Pulse, I got a little excited when I read your post and immediately called AskMini... Unfortunately it says I'm still at port. But our timeline has been so close, I'm hoping it'll change today. I may try tracking today and see what happens.
Congrats!

Wouldn't it be awesome if the Mini lounge sent you an email when your car changed status, through each step? I mean we do give them our emails.

Oh man... I was looking at the Port Hueneme website and it doesn't look like K-line boats go there, which means I have to wait for a WW boat... the next one doesn't leave until 2/25...

Mine is headed to port Hueneme right now but, is not on a WW ship. Its on the Sagittarius Leader, which I have not been able to find the name of its shipping line.

:edit: looks like its NYK-Line. Is the the same as K-Line??

Oh interesting, it looks like the Sagittarius Leader is K-Line, so maybe there is hope for me yet! Thanks for the info! Keeping my fingers and toes crossed!

Welcome! I keep checking the different schedules hoping mine will be on the next... I don't think I'm going out on the K-Line though. Just checking every option.

does anyone know what ship(s) go to baltimore? my MA said thats where the countrymans (countrymen?) for my dealer has as their port of entry. wondering transit time, etc.

i wonder how healthy it is to obsess over these things as much as it seems we do. oh well... all of it will go away when I'm driving in my MINI!!

I'd love to know this too since this is the port I'm sure my mini will someday arrive at.

Godspeed Turandot. If she makes it to NYC by 2/29, how soon should I expect delivery to Philadelphia? So obsessed with my Countryman.
