LOL
It's my third time at this rodeo so one would think I would have learned patience with this process by now... It does not feel like it, but out of the three times, this was by far the fastest order to delivery timeline. I really should not have been complaining.

Hey DooBa, have you heard anything on your cars? The California Highway left Baltimore this mmoring on it's way to Brunswick. I'm getting ready.

Does anyone waiting on a countryman have a completion date for next week?

my ALL4 went into paint on 12/21, but the completion date is estimated 1/9. I know there might be delays for the holiday, but I was wondering if the factory shut down through the Epiphany 1/6.

My MA told me my CMS had some damage during transport and needed repair, hence the delay at the VPC. They had to replace the front bumper panel and paint it. Supposedly it's all good and will be at the dealership on Monday ... one day before the Motor-tober deadline. I'm Tebowing right now ...

That's great news TNC. No word on ours. Both completed 12/12 and have been sitting at the port since...missed 6 vessels. Everything happens for a reason.

I feel for all of you who are waiting. The last stretch is so agonizing.

Sooner - I'm sure the VDC is making you CM look perfect. Had the same thing happen to a previous car and it still looks no different than the rest of the adjacent panels ten years later.

Oh, man! SoonerMack, I'm so sorry to hear your car was damaged. But I'm sure the VDC will make it like new for you, and you'll never be able to tell the difference. But I'm really glad to hear that it's coming in Monday! At least you have a firm date now. I'll be keeping my fingers crossed for you!

hey soonermack...sorry to hear the news. my advice is look that car over in daylight before you pay in full. you may also want to take it for a test drive to make sure no funky noises are emanating from the front. i know you (like everyone here is so excited) but if it is not perfect...dont accept it. best of luck.

Oh man, SoonerMack . . . at least now you know what the wait was all about! Hope it is even better than new when you are united with it next week. Hmm, wonder if that's what is happening to mine . . . .

Have we had pics from the lucky FredoinSF yet? He must be out having too much fun.

Countryman on order

Does anyone know how long it takes for your car to move out the the "on order" category in the Mini Owners lounge? I just placed my order at the beginning of this week. I think my MA finally got it into the system yesterday, but I still don't have a build date... And I'm trying to contain myself from calling everyday!

Well, that depends on the holidays, production backlog, etc. Ours took about a week, but that was in the beginning of November. I think that the M.S. plant in Graz has been shut down between Christmas and New Year. So week 1 of 2012 production will begin on Jan 2nd. I suspect that the week 1 (and maybe week 2) production schedule has already been set.

Your next status change will be "scheduled for production"; this is when your build has been assigned a production week. However, the OL and AskMINI do not always have the most up to date info, so you may have already been assigned a production week. The best way to determine this is to have your MA go directly to the information source by accessing MINI's ordering system to get the latest info. BTW -- both the OL and AskMINI get their info from this system but only via periodic "extracts" of data; the information is not real time.

At this point, everyone will tell you to be patient. Fine. It doesn't make it any easier to wait! Hang in there...

Still on the fence wether to get driving lights or not, love them but it's difficult to swallow the $800 the dealer is asking for.
Ordered it with Mini connected, hope it's worth the investment.

Astoundingly, my CM is now sitting in the driveway! I wasn't having any luck getting responses on the phone, so I visited the dealership yesterday. Before I could say anything, they hastened to inform me that my car had gotten on a truck Thursday morning and was expected in late yesterday evening, and I'd be able to pick it up today.

Thankfully, all of that came true, and a couple of hours' paperwork later, I drove home in my new baby! Now I am sitting at home with the manual, trying to figure out if I've succeeded in actually turning it off.

Not sure if this has come up here before, but the only rail accessory that came with the car was the sunglasses holder. When I noticed and asked, the salespeople were as surprised as I was. Mini hadn't told them that the other accessories are no longer part of the package. They were nice enough to say that they are going to get me the cupholders and phone holder. Have any of you 2012 owners received any of the other rail accessories?

I received sunglass holder and phone holder. They said the bench seat does not get the additional accessories since there is no rail running to the back like the 4 seater.

Congrats Katie,

If you have the bench seat the only accessory included is the sun glass holder. Apparently since there isn't enough of rail space to hold more than one accessory the powers to be decided that the sun glass holder is the preferred accessory. I scored the phone holder from my MA and I am still working on how to neatly modify the rail to take out the "stops" that prevent 2 accessories from fitting. I think the phone cradle can fit forward without interfering with the E brake.

That makes sense, Cobra. I've got the full rail, though. In fact, the only reason I got the full rail is because I wanted that rail space for cupholders. (As a typical American, I place great importance on cupholders!) My dealer must have gotten some bad information, and whoever's in charge of putting the accessories in the car must have gotten confused.
