Still liking this Mini (my 4th), but have read the various comments and here are my comments:

1 - I also get a loud "woodpecker" noise when the sunroof is open, but it comes and goes. If anyone has solved this please let me know.

2 - I have a rattle in the driver door near the lock, but not too bad.

3 - The effectiveness of the rail system is defeated by the location of the E-brake. Only one item fits the front split rail and you cant access it easily.

4 - Tank is tiny and range (with the automatic all4) is very limited, but I have been getting 26 to 28 overall MPG. That means you can not go more than 300 miles before the dreaded low tank light comes on.

These all seem to be easy fixes - I guess thats what we get for buying the first year model.

You might want to think about changing your oil and filter. Mini says you don't need to, but breaking in a new engine results in lots of tiny little metal bits, which are not your friends.
