Was tempted to stalk your car and leave a note under the windshield wiper. Hope your experience was good!

I have figured out a few things from this thread. 1) I should be hearing from my dealer about when they ordered my car (I put the deposit down on 5/4). 2) I should also be hearing from my dealer about access to the Owner's Lounge. 3) I may be hearing from my dealer about delays in production and the possibility of getting a 2012 model instead of 2011. Am I on the right track?
Lauren, congratz on the order! I do not think it is too late for 2011, but it does depend on getting a build number. From the sounds of it some dealers have sold out of their allotment, in which case that could mean a 2012 model.

I ordered the 5th and got a build number the say day. The ol was updated within a few days, and I am listed as on order. I hope to be in production soon.

Good luck!

Yeah, that was my experience, though my MA did not seem to get information quickly from MINI USA, so he was very unsure with what was going to happen until after I was assigned a production number.

I got an e-mail about the OL and logged in myself. I didn't hear from him. When I logged in, it showed a 2011, so they did seem to get me into this model year.

I got my car today! I'm glad I didn't wait around for the one on order. I'm not sure my other car would have made it through a delayed delivery.

Well, I finally heard back from my dealer and it loooks like I'm gonna have to wait for the 2012. They put in my order, but the system changed it to a manual transmission because of delays with the automatic. She told me to expect late July/early August delivery for the 2012 (though I'm skeptical). I'm waiting to hear back from her to see if there is absolutely no way to get a 2011 automatic. This is my first car (the first one I'm buying myself), so I want a car built to my specs. I'd rather not pay anymore than I originally agreed to and I'm worried about what changes there will be in the 2012. I'm not hard pressed to get a new car soon, so I could wait, I just don't want to. I'll keep you posted on developments.

Lauren, did you ever get a build number from your dealer?

No, my dealer put in the order, but it automatically changed it from an automatic to a manual transmission. It looks like I'll be waiting for the 2012. Hopefully the delivery will be August instead of September.

Fingers crossed! Though I would not accept any changes to my order like that. Personally, I prefer the manual, but if they changed it to an automatic, I would back out.

I'm the complete opposite, I need an automatic and since its the first car I'm buying myself, I want it to my specs. Luckily, I can wait for the 2012.

Where is my Mini?

My mini countryman has been built for over a week. How long does it take to travel to Bremerhaven from the plant in Graz? I went to the shipping site and noticed that no vehicles have been loaded or received from Graz after 5/11

Mine was finished on May 5th, and was at the plant for 6 days before it was reported that it was at the port. (I'll bet yours is already at the port, but the system is not updated yet.)
I'm still at the port waiting. There are two vessels scheduled to arrive at the port tomorrow. The Tonsberg, and the Independence 2. There may be more, but they are not heading to Baltimore, where my vehicle is scheduled to arrive. If your car is at the port, it will most likely be on one of those two ships, if your delivery is through the east coast.

I found out today that our mini is at the port waiting for a boat. I guess it has been portside for about one week. It will be either a baltimore or Savannah drop off I'm told. The 866 number was very helpful today. The stealership is very short on information. I guess I am bothering them. OH well they actually were quite nice during the ordering phase.

dhroz,

Did you find out which Vessel your car is on? I'm sure it was loaded on a ship over the last two days. There were three of them scheduled to load during that time period that were headed to Baltimore. You should be able to access the WWL shipping site to see if your vehicle VIN# is loaded on one of their ships. If you are on the K-line ship (Florida Highway) than I don't know how you could tell if your car was loaded. Most likely, your car is also on the Independence 2, which is in Southampton now.

Apparently our mini countryman left bremerhaven on the 19th. I don't know which vessel though. The mini site still has not updated if this is true. !6 days over water. I hope it has a nice seat near the bow rail overlooking the ocean.
