I was 7 weeks in Texas. Ordered on a weekend and it went into production the following week using one of the dealers existing production slots. It took about a week and a half from the time it arrived at the port to arriving at the dealer.

That's the kind of number I want to hear.

My countryman took EXACTLY 9 weeks from day of order to delivery in Michigan.

OK, this is depressing. Here's what my MA had to say today.

Unfortunately there is no sooner June delivery allocation remaining as all of those cars have gone into production. We are looking at a July delivery time frame or maybe even possibly a tiny bit sooner. I will have more accurate info to give once we receive or next allocation. Once we place the order then you will be able to track it online.
Shoot me. What does "a tiny bit earlier" mean, I wonder?

It sounds like I'm heading towards a pretty LONG wait cycle. I ordered my Countryman on April 12th. The MINI website has had my vehicle listed as waiting to be scheduled since April 14th. 3 weeks already, and nothing has changed. The website still says waiting... So, if my calculations are correct, even if the car is built in the next week, and it takes a week or so to get to the port, another week to get loaded onto a ship, 3-4 weeks to reach and get through the arrival port, another week to get to the dealer (Wisconsin), and THEN, MAYBE, a few more days to be prepped... I'm looking at ten weeks. I probably shouldn't be complaining, and I know some have waited longer than I will, but I CAN'T WAIT for this car...
I've ordered many cars in my life, but none of them had as much anticipation as this one. Something about the car says "I gotta have it". I just hope the car is as exciting in real life as it is in the wait...

Mark

Mark, you've summed up exactly how I feel, except for the fact that you actually have enough info to track your car.

What port did yours come into being in Texas?

^Georgia I think. I didn't really track it that closely.

tippykayak - if your dealer doesn't even have a production slot allocated yet, less than 8 weeks seems a bit optimistic to me, unfortunately, but I guess you could get lucky.

Me too. On the bright side, eight weeks from today is only 6/30, so that's still well within the window of the discount.

Just checked Owner's Lounge, anticipated delivery date changed to May 9 (was 8th) and I was hoping it would be this week yet. Checked with my MA and he said the information he had was May 9th also. I had visions of motoring for Mother's Day. That will put it at 8 weeks, earlier than the June delivery date I was given when I ordered but not soon enough!! I'm alittle bummed about the Rock the rival discount also. Madison's event isn't until May 27 and when I ordered in March no dealing no discounts probably the excitement over the car in my eyes didn't help my cause.!!

Hearing about all the people with wait times fewer than 9 weeks is really encouraging.

Hmm...I wonder if you ordered before me and took the last June spot.

I'm highly curious to hear about your time frame once you find out about it.

I'm a little bummed. My MA wrote in an e-mail on Wednesday night that he'd get back to me the next day about when he might actually be able to put in the order for my car, but I never heard from him. Sad. It'll suck if I go a whole week from placing the order without finding anything out about delivery. It'll suck double if my car isn't even ordered for that whole week.

Did they give you a build or production number? Usually with that you can tell if it at least has been ordered.

Alas, no. It almost certainly has not been ordered yet, and I don't think you get those numbers until the order is actually put in by the dealership (somebody correct me if I'm wrong here). Last I heard (Wednesday night), they were waiting to hear what their allocation for July delivery orders was, and once they have that, they can put mine in. It may be that it's ordered and he hasn't contacted me yet, even though he said he'd get back to me yesterday and didn't.

When I talked to my MA last evening he said they were getting all the orders together to submit them. Sounded like a Logistics thing they were working through

Did he say what day they'd get them in and when he'd get back to you with a production number or some kind of information you could use to track the car directly?

Good news from my end. My car was completed yesterday, and is now 'waiting for transport'. It now looks like 9 weeks is a possibility.

I would like to be able to track the vehicle across the pond, like I've observed others doing here. I've seen the site at marinetraffic.com, and I'd like to use it to track my vehicle here. I'm not sure how I find out which ship, or which port, it is scheduled to be shipped on.

Any help?

Thanks,

Mark

Oh bummer, that does stink. And watching the forums sure doesn't help as people talk about driving thier new CMs.

Uhhh, have you seen the South Park episode where Cartmen freezes him self, might be an option for you . Of course it left him 400 years in the future.

I think I may have to do the whole freezing thing. Six days of waiting and I'm an obsessive wreck. I can't imagine what 7 more weeks might be like.

I keep hoping it'll be better once I actually get the production number and some harder estimates on delivery date, but that might just make me worse.

I am old enough to remember that 8 to 12 weeks was the norm for car delivery. The dealers had a few basic units on the lot anything "special" had to be ordered.
