Unfortunately i didn't see the brief. I only received an email from my mini dealer asking me to call ASAP. The email stated that they had received a bulletin from MINI regarding the surf blue colour.

When i went back in at the weekend, the Dealership themselves didn't have much info from the factory other than the Colour didn't come up to standard. If i had decided to wait, i would have lost my production slot - so i changed my spec colour and interior.

 

Hmm.. that is odd. As someone suggested I wonder if it's simply due to availability of the pigment issue or really a quality issue.

Representative from 866-Ask-MINI told me she did not find anything on the subject. Next up is dealer service rep.

 

Has anyone heard anything more about this? I'd like to know if I have a collector's item now

I am eagerly waiting for my surf blue, with white roof, and carbon cloth seats, black inside with silver trim. I Love the basics. my current mini also has the black cloth seats and i find them way more comfortable than the leather sport seats in my hubby's mini. I nearly ordered the light coffee color..... it was so hard to choose. so many nice combinations possible.... so little money and time to try them all.....

 

I had the same dilema . . . . Surf Blue White top or Light Coffee White top . . ended up ordering the light coffee. Loved the surf blue though also.

 

My surf blue CMS is on the boat now. Never heard anything about a problem with the color. I do not have surf blue interior however. Let you know when it arrives if there are any issues.

 

I am having the same problem; I tried to order a Surf Blue countryman with the Surf Blue color line back in April. Was told it was on hold for a few weeks, and have been waiting ever since. All my dealer can find out is that it is on hold indefinitely. I just don't like any of the other colors as much and I was in love with the idea of having the color line "match" (or should I say complement) the exterior color. Does anyone have a surf blue color line with a different color exterior? Would love to see pictures, especially with the Cosmic Blue exterior. Would that look nice or completely hideous? HELP!

 

Lots of white ones with surf blue. I bet royal gray would work well too.

I have a surf blue exterior and it has the tobacco color line. Its soo dark it basically looks black, especially with the anthracite headliner

 

I didn't even know that Surf Blue was an option for the interior until reading this thread. Probably because I've been looking at getting the plain CM instead of the CMS. Wish it was available as an option.

 

I ordered my surf blue with surf blue interior March 1, received it April 29, I guess before they stopped producing it. I think it looks great, it matches fine. Here it is. Sorry, it will not take my interior photo, as I already had it on another post here. annoying!

 

I picked up mine in mid-May and am very happy with it. I ordered it on March 31, and picked it up on May 20 (if I remember correctly) its' very nice.
I had not heard of a "color" delay.....

 

Im so happy I didnt go with the Blue on a factory order like I had planned to do.. Love the color though..

 

My CM has black interior, basic, piano black trim, black cloth seats with cold weather package (this is Pennsylvania) and the exterior is the surf blue with the white roof. It looks great. I am getting the racing stripes added, as they were not already applied when I picked up the car. I was a little undecided, but now have made up my mind. I think it will look OK, even though I am not a "racing" person (age 60).
Perhaps the delay was due to a blue exterior and blue interior not exactly matching up???

 

Good news! My dealer just called and said they are a go with the Surf Blue again, but now mine will be a 2012. Super happy! Apparently they may offer a new backseat option, but I think I am going to stay with the 2 part rail. On my way to being a first time Mini owner!
