I wasn't able to move mine either. The wire was 2" too short, no matter how you routed it, no way it was going to reach. Then I looked at the geometry and realized that the actual change in slant range to the driver's mouth from the right side versus the left side was minuscule.

No I didn't take anything else off I literally just pushed the wire back up through the hole it was coming through and while doing that I reached through the other side (the side I wanted to move it to) with my finger and when I felt the wire come back up I grabbed it and pulled it over to the new side and pulled it down.

The CM is not exactly a quiet car to begin with. Personally, I'm not too sad about all the background noise on BT. I'm on the phone too much during business hours so the last thing I want to do is yak on the phone when I'm in the only place where I can have "me time." I figure whoever i'm talking to wants to end the ordeal as quickly as possible so it makes conversations much shorter.

Is the call quality really that bad before moving it? I haven't had any complaints on the quality, and I'm not sure moving it 3 inches would make all that much difference. But if it really is that much better I just might have to do this.

I have had no complaints about call quality (providing my windows and sunroof are closed when making the call).

I also measured the difference in positions (slant range to speaker's mouth): left side: 22 inches. Right side: 23-1/4 inches. How can 1.25" out of almost two feet make a difference in voice quality?

I don't have an S model so I had to change the holders to add the pink side scuttles and I also changed my yellow side lights to white.

This was one of the first mods I did 2 months ago and never gave it a second thought until a friend mentioned my mobile sounded better than before. (yesterday) Agree, windows & sunroof should be closed but I was surprised someone actually mentioned sound difference.

I just completed the move about a minute ago, with the fact no one could hear me before, I couldn't imagine it would hurt.

Sounds like one of those things "no one thought of".
