I don't know the technical background behind all these mods, but maybe someday I'll bring my car to one of these shops with a budget and just say, "make it faster".
I think what would be worth it right now, however, is a better clutch system, and something that would decrease the turbo lag and not have any adverse effects.

We've got a ton of CM parts available. Many parts interchange with the R56, but not all.

I alway wondered if the insert was only beneficial for those with manual transmissions. Did you notice a benefit, threar?
Just a ratchet and a couple sockets. A pry bar is handy as well, because you have to pry the engine out of the way to get it back in. A third arm comes in handy, but I managed it by using one of my feet.
By stiffening up the OEM bushing, more engine vibration is felt in the cab, which allows you to not feel so disconnected from the car. I was surprised at how much easier it is to feel the clutch engage point.

I don't know if I'd want more engine vibration and/or noise to be felt in the cab.
Things vibrate enough with the run flats and sport suspension I have.

Yup, I've noticed a difference, especially under heavy acceleration. Like was mentioned, there is more engine vibration but nothing unbearable (and I like the added growl).
Personally, I think it should have come from the factory this way. I hate how "refined" the newer MINIs are compared to the 1st Gen R50/R53s. I prefer feeling feedback from the engine, even if it means a little more vibration/noise in the cockpit. But I guess since I mainly see old ladies driving MINIs these days, I'm not the target demographic.
Thanks. All I've really heard is people saying they feel more vibration, which, as far as I can tell, is only regarded as a benefit because it helps manual drivers anticipate when they need to shift, something that is obviously of little benefit to us.
