Once the CM gets off the boat does it head directly to the VDC the same day? Wasn't sure if the VDC was right on the docks or close?

 

It seems to hit the VDC within a day of being offloaded. I don't know if the VDC is right at the port but it's close. I seem to recall reading that the VDC is about a mile from where the ships are unloaded. I also recall reading that BMW/Mini shares the Baltimore VDC with Mercedes.

 

Sorry I only got a chance to take a crappy cell phone pic when we stopped for early dinner after we took delivery.

Finally the Turandot has docked in Baltimore. Now to wait for VDC to get it....then hopefully to it's new home by end of next week!

 

Anyone else have a vehicle currently in transit on the Faust?

 

Well on the OL it now lists our car as being at the VDC! I'm hoping for a fast trip through the VDC. Does the VDC install the bonnet stripes or does that happen at the factory?

 

Anyones car get to the dealer before the OL changed to "at dealer"? Estimated delivery date on OL for us changed to tomorrow for some reason? Was at the dealer yesterday and car wasn't there. Do the car carriers deliver on sundays if dealer isn't open?

 

I would think that someone needs to be at the dealership to sign for the deliveries. Of course, if it was me, I'd probably drive by anyways to see if it showed up.

 

Ours are traveling companions as they are both on the Faust. Ours is scheduled to be offloaded in Halifax tomorrow.

 

You can bet I will be driving by in a little while. Date on the OL for estimated delivery is actually today 3/6 so that's why I was thinking truck might be there today.

 

After the VDC, OL was never right for my car. Also, after the VDC ask mini said the car was at the port waiting for a shipping vessel. Fortunately, a truck grabbed it before it took back off to sea.

 

Lol, yeah mine says "at the port" now too which is kind ironic since it spent so long there in the first place. I think I'm going to cruise the dealer after work to see if they had any CM deliveries today. We are working with only one car until our CM comes in and it stinks.

 

My car has finally landed in Baltimore. I'm already getting ready for the delivery -- I just order the front license plate holder from GoMiniGo. Hopefully it won't take too long to get to Ohio (so far that hasn't been the case )

 

It's a crap shoot I think. Ours has been at the Baltimore VDC for almost a week.

 

I'm just amazed how some people seem to get their cars in weeks and others are taking months. I would have thought your was at the dealership by now.

 

Funny you should mention this. I just got the call....our CM is at the dealer!!

Fingers crossed we get it tonight! Leaving work and heading to the dealer!
