R60 Week 4 Support group
I didn't have to talk to my Sales Manager, but I strongly suggested my MA do that for me, that's how I got confirmation that Chase was on a ship. Apparently none of the west-coast bound VINs appear to track in the WW database, though :(
Just checked the WW shipping site and a bunch of Countrymans are showing up as scheduled on the Electra with an ETA to Baltimore of Feb 25. Of course, there are a whole bunch of vin around my number, but mine is not showing up (yet -- hopefully).

I am not sure if I’m suppose to post under 4 weeks thread, but looks like my car was "Released to Carrier" today (2/10/2011)
So,
01/28/2011 – ordered
02/02/2011 – moved from order status to production status
02/09/2011 – “body shop production completed”
02/10/2011 – "Released to Carrier"
Looks like it took less than 2 weeks to go from ordering to build completion – I have no idea if this is normal or not. Probably sounds right since dealer said 6-8 weeks; it probably takes another 4 weeks for shipping etc.
PS: 4 weeks ago I could not even imaging myself buying Mini.
MCS S ALL4, true blue, black roof/wheels, cold, premium

I'm on the exact same frame. What area of the country are you? Mine has to sail allllll the way to the west coast port. boo.
I called today for status and robot happily notified me that construction will end 2/16 (yeasterday’s status was “released to carrier”). After talking to live operator was told that they have some glitch in the automated system and that I not suppose to worry.
We could always sell it ourselves but if we do we will just walk away because the offer they made is so bad and we have already made concessions in other areas.
Yes the offer is way below blue book trade in value.

That sucks, I've got a trade-in too when mine arrives but may just try and sell it myself. Seems like I hear many dealers these days are low-balling trade-ins. What I did notice was a huge difference in appraised values comparing Edmunds to Kelly Blue Book, Edmunds is allot lower.
They gave us an idea of our trade a few weeks ago. It wasn't too bad but probably helped we are trading in an MCS. But we are selling ourselves and hope to get several thousand more than what they are offering on trade. Nothing will kill a deal quicker than ticking off a customer with a lowball trade offer.
I Can relate.
between the dealership hinting that the trade in would be low (which strikes me as ludicrous, we almost did a trade in for a Volvo and they gave exact Blue Book trade in value) and getting very mixed messages on the loan rate:
yes, it will be whatever the current market rate in the day is... No, we're not giving preferential rates on CMs... yes, No. What?
at this point, we are also on the verge of walking away. we will lose $100.

Speaking of rates the sales manager said he could get me either 2.99 or 3.19. We will see what he says once our CM is in and we start to talk. Worst case scenario I will dispute the $1k deposit charge with amex.
yeah, we could have done the dispute with Amex, but since we get $900 back I'll go with that. had it been the full $1k I would be on the phone too.
I've done a dispute before on something else, that money was back in my account faster than I could snap my fingers.

Check you state laws. Most states require 100% refund. Don't allow the dealer to keep a nickel unless they are entitled to it legally.
Also - good idea to get an appraisal before you place your order. No surprises that way.

Well our CM has finally turned up. I'm NOT happy to say that it just got on the Turandot yesterday 2/16. That means it will not hit Baltimore until 3/3 and then has to pass through VDC and get to our dealer in Ohio. Just can't believe our CM sat at the port for almost 3 weeks when others who were completed after ours got on earlier boats?? So much for being on the Oberon. Now we will probably have to deal with having only one car for several weeks instead of days.
Lindsey...That is shocking and really frustrating, I'm sure. I wonder what order they load them on the boats. Some built after mine are already in people's hands. On the bright side, I guess you at least know where your CM is. A few weeks from now, we'll all have them.
