R60 Funky door locking functionality...
So I'm noticing that the switch in the car for the door locks acts differently than my 03'. In my 03' down was lock and up was unlock.
My new Countryman seems like it doesn't matter which way you push the toggle. If you press it it will first lock all the doors then the next time it will unlock. So it seems you have to know if the doors are locked or not to know if the switch is locking or unlocking.
Am I missing something basic here?

Here's something I've been toying with. I'm trying to get all 4 doors to unlock once we shut the car off. No luck. I figured the driver programmable through the tach would allow all 4 doors to unlock when the car is turned off.
BTW: Most of the time we use the Comfort Access so we don't use the key in the ignition.

As for the door locks, in my wife's Clubman, if some doors are locked and some are unlocked, pushing the toggle up unlocks and down locks the doors. If they're all the same, the toggle inverts them regardless of which way you toggle it. Seems like a stupid way to program it. I'd rather it work like in the 1st generation cars.
You can get this programmed by the dealer, but it was around $150 when I asked about my 2003. It could be cheaper now, but I don't know.
