I just sat in my Countryman at the dealer. I pick it up tomorrow. I tried my Droid in the rail and it fits perfectly in the top groove. My hand clears the phone when releasing the brake. I'll have to let you know if it slides all the way to the back seat when I start off.

This looks very slick. If it can dock into the system/charge, it might be a decent solution.

I bought a Brodit Proclip that mounts to the right of the CD slot. They have multiple versions with pass thru chargers, etc. I tried a few other solutions, but was not happy with them. Proclip also makes a left mounted clip and one that mounts on the top left of the speedometers. Then, of course, the wires are too short...

I use those trash bag clips...use two of them in front of the hand brake so it slides in...hangs on the left side of the rail...fits my iPhone and a droid...

On top of the rail. With the otter box it seems to stay fairly well in place even if it's not hooked to the cable. I've had to fish it out from its resting spot against the seat rail a few times but there again the thickness of the otter box prevents it dropping too far into the depths of the under seat world.

I was under the assumption that the 2012 CM had an included iPhone snap in holder in the center rail?

Mine did not come with it. Maybe it's because I have bench seat and / or armrest I also did not pony up for connected. Not sure where I'd put it to be honest.

I'm still waiting on my CM, another 2 wks or so.
...Cant you just place the iph in the rail & plug in the wire-cable connector(Y cable) ?
Why do you need a mount?
I mean a mount is nice & all, but it's not like the ph is gonna come out of the rail?
(school me if I'm missing something here?)

Also, not the most flattering(is any window mount product?) but what about simply using a rotating window type suction-mount? universal for any phone? & simply run BT if your equipped or w/ the Y cable or a longer fleabay version ?

???

Same here; bench seat option, and just got the sunglasses holder. I just put my phone in the rail attached to the Y cable.

Someone else on the forum created this idea, using the plastic holster that came with the phone, painting it, and adding some drawer liner.

I've got the full rail, sport seats, and Connected, and still no iPhone snap in holder.

Though I do have the center arm rest in front. I plug my phone in, turn on connected, and place my phone in the arm rest. Yeah, sure you can see the wire going into the armrest and it doesn't close all the way, but I don't really use my arm rest as such. It's really just there to hold stuff. I'm short, so my seat is too far up for me to really use the arm rest.
Anyway, my phone is out of the way and unseen. Works for me!

I actually converted the supplied sunglass holder into my I phone holder until I finally figured out the correct cradle to use. My main reason was to keep the phone out of sight while running errands and not wanting to take the phone with me just for a few minutes out of the car.

I sometimes put it in that accessory by the E-brake but most of the time plug mine in and stick it in the cupholder.

I don't have a CM (yet) but this was my solution for the roadster. First start with a ProClip dash holder.

ProClip Countryman Mounts

Then use a Bluetooth A2DP adapter instead of wiring your phone to the USB and Aux port. Here's an inexpensive way to add bluetooth streaming to any car with an aux input. Plug this into the USB port (for power) and connect to the aux-in port. Pair it with your phone and you can then stream music wirelessly. However the car thinks it's just a wired aux connection so you can't control the phone, just the volume. However combine this with a ProClip dash mount and you can just slip your phone into the mount and start playing music, Spotify, Pandora, Downcast, etc. without connecting anything...

Monoprice Bluetooth A2DP adapter

Here's another more expensive option from Amazon but this one is nice because it is smaller and can be powered from a micro-USB power cable and can be combined with a direct wire option allowing everything to be hidden if desired. This is what I use in my Mini since I didn't discover the Monoprice unit until recently. BTW if you happen to plug in your iPhone into the USB port but leave the bluetooth device in the aux jack your iPhone will still display the song information even though the music is over BT.

I have the bench seat and got one of the new flat laying iPhone holders. I also purchased this which works fantastic although you're down one cup holder if you use it:
