My dealer has one in and I will be checking it out tonight when I get off of work (I peeked in the showroom at 6am but alas it was dark).

My dealer is also very dog friendly with MINI bowls of water for the pups as they visit.

Yeah, I called the Service department too this morning because they get there earlier, 7:30 and they confirmed it was CB. I am coming in for my 30k service today and will check it out then.

I didn't think i would like it that much but it was very fun to drive, relatively quick and in the twisties it hides it's weight really good. The most impressive thing about it is that you wouldn't know that you are driving a car that size and that it is very steady in the corners. The interior plastics are a bit cheap (mostly that plastic bit round the speedometer) but you can live with it.
One last thing i noticed was that although you can reach 220km/h above 160-170km/h there is much wind noise and engine noise (which they told me at the dealership that it was just a sunroof calibration)

What was the color. Was it True Blue or Surf Blue. If It was surf blue can you send me a bigger photos. I am considering to buy surf blue :D

the materials are supposedly the best in any MINI that has been built prior to the Countryman.

Even my buddy "MARIO" liked the countryman.
!! hahaha that is so funny! I'm reading your post and then I notice, thats me in the background! I spotted my big black watch, so funny when you catch these things!

That watch is in the right place.

It goes with the Mini Speedometer.

Was eager to test drive the "Bigger, but still MINI" Countryman

I am 6'7" (~2 m) tall, with a 38 inch inseam, and I fit in my MINI MCS perfectly. I have equal to more leg room in my MINI Clubman than in my midsize Chevy truck. Now, I want to get a second MINI and was intrigued by the advertisement describing the Countryman as "Bigger". But, "Bigger" than what...perhaps the MCS, or more likely the R56? Perhaps. The only way to find out was to drive 1.5 h and literally try the Countryman on-for-size.

Long story short...first, I could not conventionally get through the opening of the front door, once inside, the driver's seat adjustment stops inches short of the MCS adjustment. Consequently, I could not take it for a test drive. Getting into the back seat was similarly challenging.

Yes, this is definitely a TRUE MINI, that looks great, but does not provide the same driver's dimensions as the R55 or R56, much to my surprise.

I took one for a drive yesterday. Boy was that fun! It doesn't have as much pickup as my R56. I guess that's to be expected because of its size. I'd have to drive it again to really get a feel for it. The MA pressed the sport button and I didn't even notice a difference. It's tempting because of all the room. I'm just not sure its for me.
