Just bought an MC
I just have to let the world know that I just bought my first Mini Cooper, and I absolutely love it. I have wanted one for about 4 years, so I finally traded in the Dodge and got myself one last weekend. I reckon I am now going to be a Mini owner for the rest of my life 
. It's actually quite fun to see peoples' reactions when they see how unique the interior design is, and how smooth the manual transmission is....My friends all want one now. It's by far the BEST thing I ever bought myself!
I do have one question though....I can't figure out if it doesn't have an alarm, or if it has one and it is broken (my bro pretended to break in to see if an alarm would go off and it didn't). Do Mini Coopers come standard with an alarm or not?

Is it a used MINI or a new one? My '03 Cooper has the alarm light at the end of the wiper stalk and it glows "red" when the alarm is set. However, I notice that my '06 MCS wiper stalk's end is occupied by a yellow light that shows when my windshield washer fluids are low.

Congrats and welcome!
To my knowledge, MINI's do not come standard with an alarm. Depending on the year of your car, if you have the red light as described in welshmen's post (pre-'05 I believe) or a red light at the end of the turn signal stalk ('05-'06), you have the alarm. I'm not sure how you would tell on the '07.

I have a used 04 Mini and it only has 25,000 miles (which is completely irrelevant to my question, but I think it was a great find). Anyways, I don't have the red light at the end of my wiper stalk or turn signal stalk, so I guess that means I need to have an alarm installed. Thanks for the info!
