Greetings from Orlando, FL!

Aloha everyone,

Conor here, just wanted to say hello and express my excitement for finally being a new owner of a 2006 MCS! I ended up going to downtown mini to price one out and planned on getting it that way, but while I was visiting my parents in Tampa, we spotted this beautiful pepper white calling out my name and I couldn't resist. We ended up trading in my 04 Mazda3 and here I am.

This forum has tons of info, so i've been reading up as much as I can, and i'm grateful that there are so many mini owners willing to share information and help others.

I have a few questions I couldn't find definite answers for, so maybe you guys can help.

1. Does every Mini come with a drivers side parcel shelf under the steering column? I've noticed this in pictures of others minis, but cant find the part anywhere for sale.

2. I found many threads about this question, with mixed yes/no answers, but is it possible to display the ID3 tags on an mp3 cd? All I can get is the album number and track number (TR01-TR01).

3. The vanity mirror lights on the drivers side visor are causing the map lights and passenger visor lights to go out. For example, if I turn on both map lights and open the passenger side mirror, the lights work fine. But as soon as I open the drivers side vanity mirror, it makes a winding noise and all the lights turn off. They wont work until I turn the car off, remove key, and put it back in. Is this something that is covered under the factory warranty? Has anyone else had this happen before?

Other than that, i'm extremely happy with the MCS, and I hope I can keep it happy as well.

Anyway, enough of that. Here are some pics from yesterdays ride. I ending up washing the car after the pictures were taken. Oh well. Enjoy!

nice MINI....you might also enjoy checking out: http://www.sunshineminis.org/

as an answer to one of your questions....the parcel shelf was an aftermarket MINI part that the lawyers of the world didn't deem safe enough.....they are still available in limited numbers and high cost (they come straight from europe).....

welcome

I registered for sunshine minis a few days ago but havent been activated yet, i guess i'll just have to wait.

So it seems that i'll have to dish out the money for a middle console arm rest then for some storage.

Thanks for the info!

No. It is a standard in Europe, but the knee bolster is standard here. They are no longer available to order through MINIUSA or any of the US distributors. If you would like one you can contact MikeyTheMini at NewMiniStuff

It depends on which model year and head unit you have. I think it started in either mid 04 or with the 05 MY.

Sounds like an electrical problem. I would have that checked out. Downtown MINI will cover almost anything in the vehicles first 3 years / 36,000 miles, Including wiper blades, yours are bad right?

Anyway, Happy Motoring, and i'll see you around town!

welcome to NAM and SSM!

I was in Winter Springs this past week for my daughter's water polo game. I like driving down the new Main Street, too...in MINI scale.

Thanks for the info COOP! I'm sure we'll see each other driving around town soon enough. I've already got some nice waves from other MINI owners in the Park ave area.

I'll probably end up heading to DTM during the next week or so. I think i've only used my wipers once so far but im sure they can use some replacing!

I was actually just looking through your gallery right now

I think I saw you driving down 17-92 ( Casselberry area) maybe a month or so ago? But I was in my blue Mazda3 then. I also see a yellow MINI with black wheels in that area quite often as well.
