Newbie here, first post and HELLO!
This is my first post in forum, my name is Roger and I ordered my 2007 Mini Cooper S last Thursday. BTW my screen name reflects the type of protection I use on my rides, not a self gloss by any stretch of the immagination
I detail cars on the side as way to make some extra ca$h for modding (cars, house or kids) I'm married, have (2) girls and live about 25 miles outside of Detroit. I love cars, all types of cars, especially the Mini and thats why I'm here, to get as much info about the car before I get it and then, become one of you. Here's a breakdown of my ride, due sometime in mid-April:
2007 Mini Cooper S
-BRG w/ white roof
-white bonnet stripes
-chrome exterior package
-rear foglights
-sport package
-sport handling package
-6spd w/LSD
-chrome interior package
-black/carbon leatherette
-auto dimming rear view mirror w/garage door opener
-Hi-Fi stereo
-auto A/C
-anthrasite roof liner
-17" crown spokes w/run-flats (I hope)
I post "I hope" because on the website it says to get 17" runflats you get the mesh spoke wheels, not the crown spoke. The crown spoke comes with regular perf tires. I put in a call to my saleslady but she didn't call me back, so I'm going to get ahold of her tomorrow. Do any of you know if this is even possible? I'm going to be using the stockers for snow tire rims anyways, but I wanna know about the tires in particular. My summer rims are more than likely going to be the 17" ASA JH6's (very retro) but I've got to find out about the centercaps that come with the wheels. If they attach from behind and make it impossible to come off, I'll be getting those but if they attach from the front, I'm going to pass and get the 17" ASA AR1's, the classic BBS mesh style wheel. This company actually went to BBS to copy their way of making rims and it shows, VERY nice quality rim. You can see the ASA JH6 wheel by going to www.tirerack.com I've seen this style on older Porsche and VeeDubs.
In closing I can't wait to get going on my car, thanks

Thanks for the warm welcome and I got my production number today
Atleast I'm in line now and my saleslady told me I should be getting my VIN in about 15 days and from that point its going to be about 30 days...I CAN'T WAIT! So far my cue ball idea has not only been addressed over in the R56 forum, but some members already have them in the gen 1's, awesome. I also can't wait for the BRG overlays for the speedo and tach, that will be another thing I'm looking into.
You are just gonna love this car you bought. Bet you get into mod options shortly after your driving grin surfaces! Happy ready in all the threads...

Welcome to NAM, Roger! Love your specs!
With the R56's redesign, I am not sure about the runflat situation. In the 2002-2006, the MCS came with runflats because there is no room for a spare. Hopefully, someone else will chime in to answer your question.
Now as you await delivery, you can immerse yourself into the MINI cult! Have fun and let me know if you have any questions about the site.
