1st MINI & 1st car
1st MINI & 1st car
About a week ago, I purchased my first Mini, which also happens to be my first car
. I've never owned my own car, because I've never really had a reason. When I'm at home (in Connecticut), I drive my parents cars, and when I'm in Philly, I don't need a car on a daily basis.
Anyway, now that I've been in school for 4 years and living in Philly, I decided it was time to have a car of my own. After searching the web for quite a while, I didn't find anything interesting in my price range.
I let my dad know that I was looking and he started looking as well. He decided to call a Mini dealership in Connecticut to see what they had. Well, it turns out they had an AMAZING deal.
2003 yellow w/ black Cooper with only 11k miles just off lease, certified Mini Next (2 yr warranty), and only $16,500!
The next weekend, I took the bus home to Connecticut. My dad and I went to the dealer, looked at the car, and test drove it. We were very impressed with the car at that price. The sales person didn't expect it to be there long and truthfully, neither did we. He suggested we leave a refundable deposit, which my dad didn't think was a great idea. Eventually, I convinced my dad that it would be a good idea. We were also able to get them to knock off $500 on the price.
Anyway, long story short, I now have 4 years of payments and, more importantly, a Mini!
Now the tricky part: finding a parking spot in Philly

That's the only pic I have of the car so far. It's sitting at the dealer while they do the necessary cleanup, inspection, and tuneups for the Mini Next program.
